I haven't had an amp with an amp trem, but I gotta say my fulltone supa trem sounds pretty dang good. Both modes are nice. It lacks a tap tempo thing which I suppose could've been cool to have

I recently got a Supa Trem 2, which got tap tempo, an extra mode and stereo/panning. It's awesome! Expencive, but awesome!

If you want just trem suggestions, I do have some. I haven't had an amp with trem either (except a Line 6 Spider which sounds like butthole and I threw it out lol).

I’ve never had an amp with trem either, but the Tremolessence sounds lovely. I just ordered a Walrus Audio Monument V2, and I’ve got high hopes.

Didnt ehx make a pedal that was like the worm but tube bias? That seems like something that would be amp:y if anything. Huge though and uses a weird psu since its tube

I have a gravitas and it is a very nice, very usable tremolo with a bajillion options.

The Surfy Bear tremolo is the most 'amp-like' trem I've tried, mainly because it's just a no-frills copy of the actual fender black and brown circuits. The Demeter/Fulltone etc, are optical, which for me, never quite sound 'amp-like'. Having said that, the Mad Professor Mellow Yellow is optical, but based on the fender black circuit. It's got a more symmetrical wave so doesn't have that nice rhythmical thing that the Surfy Bear can do though. I've also tried a few harmonic tremolos over the years but I've never really liked them. However, I've grown to really like the harmonic mode on the SB.

If you're handy with a soldering iron and want to save money on the Surfy, he also makes a kit version, which is what I went for. I also just run it at 9v, and it's fine. The 12v is nice but it's only a shade 'better'. Not a night and day difference.
