It rips in a nasty "caught a lightning bolt's tail" way in the general vicinity of the way the Plasma pedal and Shoe Pixel among others do, but mostly it's just a comparator fuzz. Which the world wants more of imo. But smartly, Mr. Behan has included a secondary mode that works more like a regular fuzz. :trippy:
You weren't kidding. Just got the Ella delivered today. Was only able to play for 5 as my lady is sick. 5 minutes of bliss though. Most interesting fuzz I've played in ages. Can't wait to spend more time with it, super explosive sounding, nasty, rippin' fuzz sounds for sure...

Another one I'm liking these days is the SUF Violet Menace. The tone stack with mids control is voiced so as to be full, yet slicing at the same time.

I love the tone stack on the SUF Son of a Bee--wonder if they're the same? :snax:

Not sure about the Violet Menace, but the one in the Red Menace is quite different in that the tone control doesn't enter as piercing a range above 9:00 and pronounced mids are possible at all tone settings as opposed to just 9:00 or below. I sometimes wonder if my Son of a Bee is defective given how persnickety the mids and tone controls are.

Holy Christmas, the W&C De La Riva is an insane Muff. I can't see why you would need anything else.

They even give you templates for certain Muff's and you can pretty easily create your own combos. Unreal. I've stopped looking.

I'm intrigued by the infinte tweakability, it possibly could do every muff tone ever and more, would love to try one.

Good, I was able to find one new on reverb.com last week: it's on the way to my place now!!! :)
Looking forward to try it out, I also have a Throat Locust from Earthbound Audio, and I love it!

Overdue mention of Alec's (azx309/MAE) Black Math, which is his take on Jack White's live sound :joy:

Anyone mention the Eldritch Electronics Colossus or Old One? I dig those. Huge and woolly. I also love a Foxx Tone Machine for a sort of Muff-adjacent tone with a little more how-do-ya-do!
