Just a reminder to all you kids out there: *nobody* walks in LA. That includes you snowflake, ok?

Also--can you see how much better they'd be if the guitard matched the bassist's commitment level by showing up with the fucking headless guitar the gig demands?

So, what's the word on power supplies these days? Is Strymon's line the best bang for buck as far as isolated, high current outputs goes? I am never going back to the world of a 100mA power supply as 60+% of my pedals take more than 100mA. My big mondo power supply looks like it's gonna sell soon, and I need a replacement ASAP.

Anything else worth checking out that's 1) not stupid heavy, 2) small-ish, 3) isolated, and 4) packs the power needed for a primarily digital board?

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

I've been wondering about power supplies too, it's time to get an additional one (to the Cioks DC10). Recently I bought a used Voodoo Lab 4x4 for a friend, so got to test that out for a while. Seemed a solid enough option, and it works for his multitude of drive/fuzzes and two digital pedals. For my needs maybe a Digital would be better. I'm mostly looking at VL PSUs because they're easy to find used, relatively cheap. If I had more to shell out I'd get that new, sleek Cioks DC7 (aka Eventide Powermax), which I think checks all your boxes.

I went from a T-REx Chameleon to a Strymon Ojai. Couln't be more happy: super small/compact and VERY light weight, but built like a tank.
5x 9VDC 500mA outs, it's a lot. If you don't need other voltages than 9VDC go for it!

CIOKS DC7. 7 ~650ma 9 v outs that can each be switched to 12v or 18v (with less ma at each voltage) plus USB power and an ac power plug for chaining

It's thinner than the schizo too (but with a power connector, I cam use them together). I should get the AC out one though for stupid wall wart removial (frostwave, hexe, whatever else)

Probably I'm gonna have the same problem in a while, so I'm keeping an eye on those answers.
Used the 1 spot cs12 so far and never had a single problem, so I'm not really interested in any other unless I get one more pedal that requires more than 100mA

How important is the cabinet size, regarding an open-back 1x12 guitar cab? I have a great cube-shaped (20x20x20) Avatar cab (no longer made in this size). My friend wants an open-back 1x12 cab, and the cheaper ones are much smaller size (like 20x16x12).

Does the smaller size matter?

Just depends on how it's designed/built. I have a super tiny Thiele style cab that sounds pretty large.

I guess if it's an open back cab, the speaker is just like... suspended in space. If the cabinet isn't absorbing too much energy (rattling etc), maybe the size of an open box isn't that important?
