Picked up the New Forces tape recently and really dig it.
Ordered it the other day along with The Rita - Retrospective, Masonna - Recycled cs, and Incapacitants/Macronympha split. Excited to get that haul!!

it is great, but it's funny to watch each of them lose focus at different points. it was like they couldn't think of what to do next. i've seen it so many times with improvised noise (and done it as many times myself). i'm not sure what it is. you see performers run out of ideas. but should they even have ideas to run out of? it's as if instead of listening to what the music wants they're just trying to keep busy or something. does that make sense? or maybe they just don't know how to embrace the times when they don't know what to do. maybe that self-conciousness and fear of inaction is what is coming across.

I feel that though. I do sample loop / beat sets with a lot of wierd dubby delay and loop parts and I start to freak out if I'm not actively touching something

Yeah, there's definitely some truth in that. However, I think it's a symptom of the genre. That kind of noise needs to be constantly changing so it's inevitable that at some point you'll hit a moment where you think "what next?". Even watch some Masonna videos and you'll see him do the same. And his sets are a only a couple of minutes long.

I always find with my noise stuff it tends to be slower with waves of sound coz I can never bring myself to just flail around with the gear. I always find myself creeping around the knobs and switches looking for the sweet spots and happy accidents.

This is not for most people btw. I've specifically dubbed this tape sentimental power electronics. A lot of CREMATION LILY releases operate in the same universe. Memory-gaze power electronics or death industrial.

 "Sentimental Death Industrial". Her music would not qualify as this but "my perception" of PUCE MARY qualifies for it.

I should have been at this... I should have been there! (I've met her before. She's super nice!)

How is MACRONYMPHA "Greatest Hits Live" not on youtube? It is neither a live album nor a greatest hits album
MACRONYMPHA is a not a band. MACRONYMPHA is a state of mind.

I used to buy EVERYTHING that NO RENT RECORDS (Jason Crumar's label) put out (they were not like FAG TAPES of AMERICAN TAPES where you kind of jus throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks... they actually curated a little but where still a noise label so tapes were frequent) I remember this tape being exceptional. https://norentrecords.bandcamp.com/albu ... c-24-nrr19.

1. How have I not posted YELLOW TEARS in this thread? That will change soon. I've seen them live maybe 3 times?
2. You're all in trouble. GRIM "Folk Music" 1986. This album makes me think about evolution - de-evolution and alternate time lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-xZgmMuKMc
As does this release [GRIM - "Folk Music For An Obscure Race" 1986] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwo9iDT4AqU

I should wear a shirt of this to my next meeting with my CEO
