7 looper pedal?

Post by Pete »

Hey guys, I'm looking for a loopmaster-style pedal like this one, that has 7 footswitches for 7 different loops:

https://www.loop-master.com/looper-strip-p-138.html

But, what I want is a looper with 6 different loops (6 footswitches), and a 7th footswitch that when engaged, allows you to combine the pedals from loops 1-6. Like, when you hit the 7th footswitch, you can stack pedals in loops 1-6 when you stomp on the switches. You can have pedals on at the same time from any of the 6 loops, instead of changing from one loop to another loop. Hope that makes sense.

Does anything like this exist? I couldn't find any looper with that functionality on the loopmaster site. I'll probably send the loopmaster guy an email to see if that can be built, but I was wondering if there's anything out there that already does this.

Thanks!

They can probably do that for you. I doubt anyone has something like that as a production pedal, but loopmaster is the best bet for a custom job at a good price for that.

Something like this?

Not 7 loops, but all 6 are programmable...

Boss ES-8 would do all that and a metric pile more (and has 9 loops).

What you need is one loop in parallel and then a normal six loop looper.
I have a custom from Road Rage which is outstanding. Dunno if they're still doing customs. And recently-ish I bought a custom from https://www.loopswitchers.com/ and it was pretty good too. Their enclosure is not as deep, and not as thick aluminium, so it saves some space and weight, at the cost of not being built like a cast iron frying pan.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I'm looking into my different options.

Could you elaborate some more on the "one loop in parallel" suggestion? I'm just trying to understand completely how to achieve my goal. So I would get a normal six- loop looper like this one:

https://www.loopswitchers.com/products/ ... p-switcher

and use it in conjunction with something like this?

https://www.loop-master.com/looper-micr ... -p-30.html

That's probably not what you're saying, but I'm dumb with this stuff, and just trying to understand.

Boy, do I feel dumb. I own and only have experience with these two true bypass loopers:

https://www.loop-master.com/cleandirtyc ... p-275.html

https://www.loop-master.com/cleandirty- ... p-272.html

With these two loopers, there's two loops you can switch back and forth, and you can only combine them by hitting the "Loop 1+2" switch. I assumed that bigger loopers worked the same way, where you switch from one loop to another, with one foot stomp. After watching some YouTube videos of other loopers, I now know what I neglected to realize was that you need two loops connected to the same footswitch, in order to switch from one loop to another. It seems so obvious now as I'm typing this, but I thought with a standard 6 channel looper or whatever, you couldn't have two different loops on at the same time, and that when you hit one footswitch, the previously activated loop was disengaged. Whoops.

...So I guess what I want is a looper with 3 footswitches, with 2 loops per switch? And with the ability to stack pedals from any of the 6 loops together... I feel like maybe those programmable Buzz loopers can do what I'm aiming for, but I'm not sure.

ES-8 will do whatever as far as programming on/off patches, and manual mode is a step away where you can turn off individuals within a patch.

Per-patch ordering of pedals as well.

You can reprogram the buttons to do anything as well, or add yet more footswitches.

Not cheap, but...there's a reason I grabbed it over mere on/off stuff.
