I got to play the Wilson Effects Mycelium ring mod today and holy moly, why isn't this pedal talked about more? It's awesome! Love the independent ring and clean blend controls. Great texture and character.

Just waiting on payment from a pedal on reverb and I’ll have enough in my paypal account to order a Randy’s Revenge.

Re: Ring (and/or Balanced) Modulation for the masses
So I FINALLY had enough discogs/reverb sales in my paypal account to justify grabbing a Randy's Revenge. First impressions are that it absolutely blows away any other ringmod I've used, it's got so many unique sounds that can be coaxed out of it and really does sound incredible. I know the regs on this thread might remember I bought a Moogerfooger Ring Mod about a year ago and I love that but it's size is fucking ridiculous and it doesn't work on my board in any context and will be much better suited to home use. I won't claim I'm savvy enough to really understand the difference between an LFO and a LPF but the RR seems to just suit my needs better. I mean they are both great but very different. I'll probably keep the RR and the Minifooger on my board together for right now. Here's a quick setup I made to get started:

HM2’s and ring mods work so well together, I’d play the shit out of that boardretinal orbita wrote:So I FINALLY had enough discogs/reverb sales in my paypal account to justify grabbing a Randy's Revenge. Re: Ring (and/or Balanced) Modulation for the masses
I got “5%” off at Moog Audio because it was a floor model! FIVE PERCENT you can’t beat that!
Honestly it’s the best ring mod I have ever played. It’s just so great sounding and lots of option. I haven’t started tweaking the CV options yet as my expression pedal is at my space. But holy damn this one is so exciting. Worth the hype, worth the price tbqh and it just fits so much better with my setup than the Moogerfooger.
