Re: Red Panda Tensor
Has anyone tried the 1.0.3 firmware yet? I've just got my Tensor and 1.0.2 seems to be working fine; what has changed in the new version?

Re: Red Panda Tensor
According to the notes:
2018-04-13
### Fixed
- Overdub mode clicked if loop exceeded memory size.
- Click when randomization causes direction change.
- Smoother pitch changes.
- Receives on single MIDI channel instead of omni.
### Changed
- Use DSP bypass in effect momentary mode.
### Added
- Set MIDI channel via SYSEX (default channel 1).
- MIDI CC 30 sets pitch in semitones.
- MIDI CC 31 sets pitch glide rate.
- Set bypass mode via SYSEX (DSP, analog, auto).
Haven't had a chance to try yet, but looks promising

Thanks! Looks pretty nice indeed. Gotta try it out sometime, I guess.

Re: Red Panda Tensor
Hello, before I get one I'd like to know if it's a good choice for me, I'm mostly into drone ambient, at the moment using an EHX Freeze in various effects.
Regarding this do you think the Tensor is ok for sustaining drones? I read there were some clicks with the previous firmwares, if it has not been solved this coulmd be a problem for me.
Regards,
JM.

Re: Red Panda Tensor
Hmmm...that's a tricky question. It can be used for drones but I don't think it's what it does best. It does much, much more. Mine doesn't click anymore with the latest update but I never used it extensively for vast overdubbing.JM Charcot wrote:Hello, before I get one I'd like to know if it's a good choice for me, I'm mostly into drone ambient, at the moment using an EHX Freeze in various effects.

Re: Red Panda Tensor
Yes, that would be my first suggestion. Not that the Tensor isn't awesome and you may want it eventually but the Stamme(n) to me is made for ambient stuff.JM Charcot wrote:Thanks!shikawkee wrote:Hmmm...that's a tricky question. A little off topic but maybe the Stamme[n] would be better for my needs?
I have both and they both are superb.

Re: Red Panda Tensor
If you're doing drones I'd stick with the EHX options. They're affordable and really the best at that effect since they're using much more powerful hardware than the other options on the market.

So uh what's the digs on these? Anyone know when they're gonna restock? Is this the yet another unobtainable hype pedal?

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Re: Red Panda Tensor
I was laughing at myself because before it was released I was in praise that a company who releases normal stock was doing a pedal like this .....nah, just as fucking slow and limited as the rest.baremountain wrote:So uh what's the digs on these? Re: Red Panda Tensor
They were building another batch as of the Brooklyn Stompbox Exhibit IIRC. New Particle is coming out at the end of summer so they'll prob be back to full production after that. But then the Context will also get an update to be competitive with all the other preset-capable boxes on the market.

Re: Red Panda Tensor
Kinda surprised to see only ~30 have sold on Reverb and only one of those was for significantly more than the new price.

Re: Red Panda Tensor
Noice. I've been bugging them about a Context Deluxe for a while. Imo, it's the all-around prettiest sounding of all the pedal multi-verbs, it's just a little too limited in auxiliary features and whatnot vs the competition now.whoismarykelly wrote:But then the Context will also get an update to be competitive with all the other preset-capable boxes on the market.
