The description makes it sound like it just needs new pots. Although it also sounds like they maybe don't know what they're talking about so could be a big gamble. Curious to know what the circuits are though. They appear to be built on tagboard.

check this out! rosewood Jazzmaster neck AND body. one-piece neck, and the body looks to be made from decently thick slabs rather than the butcher-block style they used for the Warmoth rosewood Telecaster bodies. if it's real rosewood, then it's a h*ck of a deal and a great CITES end-around for Yanks. if i had unlimited funding i'd be all over this...with a MoTS guard and pickups hot enough to lively it up it'd be a wonderful thing. i bet it weighs a ton, though.

i'd contact the seller and ask to choose my neck and body from photos. i wouldn't spend $800 unless i knew that i liked the grain patterns and the wood was reasonably straight. i'm intrigued by rosewood guitars...i got to play one of the George Harrison Telecasters and it was a really unusual instrument that was very different from your typical Tele, very dark and not the least bit twangy. i could make it sound exactly like the solo on "Let It Be."
