I have dipped my toes into premium synths with a Sub 37 that I got in a trade for some modular stuff. I've been wanting to get my hands on something polyphonic with the same quality for awhile. But again, that's too expensive for me right now. In 5-10 years, I'll probably jump on a pre-order for something like a Prophet X immediately.
Understood. In the interest of brevity, I amended my earlier statement, but the unabridged version would read more like this--
It does take a lot of patience, as well as trial & error [, debt, inheritance money, scholarship money, horrible jobs, and flipping gear for profit] to get where you want though.

I mean, premium synths seem like a hard pill to swallow, but add up all that eurorack and it quickly seems more attainable.

Also, that Alexander drive pedal is....yeeesh. I'll be nice and say "it isn't for me".

Yeah that's no joke. I've considered getting completely out of euro and going for purely hardware synths. I could probably sell all my euro and grab a $4k synth no problem, but there's just something about euro that I can't give up...

What would a new pedal reveal day be without the Kentucky cowboy?

There are some cool sounds inside and I'm hearing a little bit of the Starlight DLX.

It looks like $299 street (same as the Avalanche Run).
New from Earthquaker Devices - Pyramids Stereo Flanger.

A stereo flanging device with five presets. Eight flanger modes, tap tempo, tap subdivision, a multi functional modify control, positive and negative feedback and a variable mix control.

Sounds amazing. A killer new flanger from the best.
Also, Googling Earthquaker Pyramids reveals that EQD is readying two other devices, called Aqueduct & Xrax (DSP phaser?) I hate to spoil the surprise, but it is after all result #1, so it's not really something that can be kept under wraps for much longer.

Thank you, EQD peeps. :hello: I'll be picking up a Pyramids this spring.

I wonder if Chank was involved. :snax:

I thought it was just the Fuzz Master General scheme recycled in the videos, but it looks convincingly purple (not navy) in this pic.

This one looks kinda purple too, but I think it's just the lighting:

So...compare this to arturia's debut in hardware.
Arturia puts some stank on that minibrute. It has it's own capabilities and sounds.
IK's UNO is kind of a collection of the most basic synth features in a box that looks like a remote control from the 80's. No "signature sound" or special sauce, and cringeworthy demos. When I saw the specs I was getting excited, but those hopes were dashed upon the rocks this morning.

I didn't love the demo, and I would agree it sounds fairly basic, but Arturia's first physical synth was the Origin---a digital synth that is most famous for crashing in mid-operation. So it's not like Arturia had the smoothest of transitions either. At $200, I think of the Uno as a competitor with the Volcas, more than current production Arturias. I hope IKM learns some things and continues to evolve, as I'd like to see if this leads to something more interesting in 1-3 years.

Damn, I never heard of it until now! Good to know, though.

*edit*
Oh shit, haha, I did know a little about this. Didn't reallize it predated the brutes. Bon Iver's origin has been sitting for sale in the local music store for like 3 years, I don't know if anyone's bothered to try it out.
