I always liked 10-52 in drop C.. Les Paul are 24.75" scale too I believe .. you might try those labella crazy 8s 9-74.. I think it feels similar to the drop C.. I mean the strings are way bigger but up top it still shreds if you're used to 10s

I bought a Squier Stagemaster 7 last year and it really needs a good setup. It's pretty awesome though. First guitar for me with crazy bridge and locking nonsense. Tuning from the bridge? gtfo.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I've been looking for a 15-20 watt 1x12 combo with a Marshall type tone for a bit, just to have something to compliment my giant dead clean custom pedal platform amp and my little Blues Jr. Been trying to find something lightly used for under $500. Then I see someone on the local CL is selling a mint Peavey Windsor halfstack for $250 OBO. Which is super tempting for the price, but the whole point was to try to find something small and manageable size/volume wise for playing/recording in my basement.

I made them an offer. We'll see if it's the best.

I like the 10$> polarized varieties whenever possible. I don't give a shit about Ray Bans or Oakleys etc.. they just get lost in the lake or the kid swipes them and scratches them up. Also the 10$> varieties typically have identical UV blocking abilities..comesect2.0 wrote:How much have yall ever paid for sunglasses?

Got some dior hommes for 150 in 2009? Still rockin em today. Its all about getting ones from past seasons with heavy discounts.comesect2.0 wrote:How much have yall ever paid for sunglasses?
The glasses market is prob one of the biggest rackets in consumer goods. I think theres like 2 manufacturers who make 98% of all designer glasses. So you are quite literally paying for the brand.

$20? Typically I spend $2-8 on them. I lose or break every paircomesect2.0 wrote:How much have yall ever paid for sunglasses?

I got some ray-bans once (for free!) that were the most comfortable glasses I've ever worn. They eventually got pawned when I wanted some guitar stuff.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
My eyes have had about enough, so I've been talked into buying expensive polarized high society glasses from Neiman marcus cuz I got a discount there..ha... thinking about just returning them once they arrive..cuz, wtf ya know $$....had an argument over patch cables v.s. my eyes melting......but with all these eye floaters and this Texas sun, could probably fine protective stylish eye wear for under 100 elsewhere for cheaper..idk..I usually buy gas station glasses...but I'm still squinting and tearing.
*cancelled order, fuck sun glasses.

Should I buy a Peavey Windsor halfstack for $200? I don't even need it, I need a 1x12 combo, but that price.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
tired of the contact lens dance, i broke down and got a pair of prescription sunglasses.
the lens were expensive (maybe ~$350 for frames + lens) but i wear them all the time (partially b/c they were so expensive)
also they talked me into some kinda special film maybe polarized? sorry i don't remember now was like 5 years ago?
makes some screens really hard to see sometimes. phones, tv's. unless u adjust the viewing angle.
i couldn't read the screen menus at some burger place last month. it was just like a giant blur.
couple times i couldn't see the credit card machine screen so had to take my sunglasses off and get real close so i could read it.
prolly not as big of a deal if u don't like need glasses to see.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I got the 40th anniversary DS-1 which is all through-hole construction, from Alto music .. in NJ.. and it's supposed to get here tomorrow. Whaaa?
I'm gonna do all the Keeley mods to it, and see how it treats me through the Bassman. As mentioned elsewhere in a Tubes Creamer thread I've heard they pair well with Tubes of Creamer. Anybody have or had a Keeley mod DS-1?

I'm going to use my Pretty Years money to get a bass, what's a good cheap bass I can get? Shortscale is also tasty.
