Nice price at $70. But dunno how different from my eBow and I'm still interested in the Vo Wond for next level in this zone.
Time to get chummy and chatty, clearly.

As someone who has never had an ebow, what's the difference? This one seems a little easier to keep over just one string, but again I have no relevant first hand knowledge

Not to pollute this thread with philosophical bullshit.. but to this point I've avoided Ebows because I've always felt like "when would I ever use that in a song" or some similar sentiment. Now that I realize the extent of my music playing is sitting on the couch with a guitar and a beer playing for my girlfriend or the cat and occasionally my son... why the fuck not. These things make bananas noises emanate from most instruments. I played a couple guitars with the sustainiac and that was cool too.
Ebows for days.

hmmmmmm. i'm curious. Tore says in the demo that you don't have to hold it as directly over the string as an eBow. this could be helpful...i could never get much out of an eBow because it'd bump into the string and make a loud click.

An ebow is tops on my list of "things I always mean to buy but never do." The price point on the Aeon makes it significantly more likely that I will pick one up.
I had never heard of the Vo Wond until this thread. Looks interesting, but pricey, and who knows when it'll actually happen...
Is the Aeon out yet?

You can make ebows sound like a broken (octave) fuzz with a simple starve knob. I have a video of it on my channel, but I'm on my phone and Idk how to post embedded yt videos like this.

Cool... I've long wondered why there wasn't competition for the e-bow.
I actually got some cool results from ebowing a spring reverb tank, but it was tough to get the positioning just right, so maybe this one'll do the trick better.
Very curious on how this'd go on bass...the ebow was pretty awkward whenever I tried.Works with guitar, bass and other stringed instruments

For $70 I’ll try it. I’ve been trying to get better and Cello like arpeggios and while it can be done with an ebow the description that the Aeon has more nuance - doesn’t have to be over the strings - I’m wondering if I can get more of the results I’m after.

Love my Ebow. Been meaning to mod it UC-style. There is are some skills to using one properly. Biggest issue I had was switching between pic and Ebow. The Aeon's body is different enough that it might be easier to hold and use a pick. Always wanted to try to make some sort of strap adapter to keep it ... handy.

Re: t.c. Aeon string sustainer/marital aid
So it's a slightly cheaper ebow that you can hold over two strings max? It looks like it doesn't have the overtone mode like the newer ebows though?

I used to E-bow a lot for creating that wavering wall of solid sound. Haven't in a while.BetterOffShred wrote:Not to pollute this thread with philosophical bullshit.. but to this point I've avoided Ebows because I've always felt like "when would I ever use that in a song" or some similar sentiment.
I might have to bust out my E-bow and see whether or not I can get it to work.

Sounded like it was getting the harmonics in part of that demoBartimaeus wrote:So it's a slightly cheaper ebow that you can hold over two strings max? It looks like it doesn't have the overtone mode like the newer ebows though?
