The Midwest is full of man-sized Boy Scouts. Ft. Wayne is especially bad, when it comes to this button-up and khakis state of being.

My college roommate was an engineer who transitioned to Sweetwater, because it was easier to get hired on there than that a famous studio. He's shared several stories with me about company culture and the surrounding area. The founder, Surack, is supposed to be a pretty stand-up guy. As far as salesmen go, it's really luck of the draw. You might get someone you enjoy chatting with, or who understands when/if you need a call. Otherwise it's up to you to formally request a different agent, or to simply request no calls.

My friend was an audio engineer. We lived outside of Nashville, so he had plenty of time to get burnt out on music industry people, well before graduation. He's not a salesman. He does liaison work with manufacturers, and he's worked in the onsite recording facilities.

As far as sales reps with recording backgrounds, I think it's just a matter of finding something comfortable and steady, rather than having to move around and work your way up in a shrinking industry.

PeteeBee wrote:I've been really craving a little multimode digital delay. Which one rules? I'm thinking like Boss DD-5/7, Flashback, or EHX canyon. Maybe the answer is Nemesis? I've never really even looked at those. I want something that can do an articulate digital delay, a reverse delay, and any other interesting things is a plus. I already have my main delay sound very happily covered by the Rubberneck, but I like having all those little tricks accessible for when I'm stacking loops.
Ego X4: 2290 (rack tribute) is usable, but I recommend the faux tape engines on the edge of self-oscillation. It also has a Rev Mod bank, but there's no control over modulation depth.
DIG: nice modulation, articulate, but also has a sweet sound character
Nemesis: I sold mine, but I liked the Diffuse & Helix banks the most.
Canyon: (only one I haven't owned) seems to be cool for stutter and odd FX.
Avalanche Run: reverse & swell modes are available. I haven't used the V2 yet. It's not as versatile as a Nemesis, but with expression control, there's certainly a lot to manipulate in real-time. It's my go-to delay for electric pianos.

For weird delays, the Particle remains one of my favorites and it wouldn't overlap with the Rubberneck.

I've been attempting to delete my LinkedIn account that I was required to get years ago (they refuse to remove my account via the Internet...I've even mailed them years back). I gave up on that.

Sweetwater dude just tried to friend me on LinkedIn...it's getting creepy out there. (They send me updates....I hate LinkedIn)

As a friend of mine said (not an exact quote probably), "They are a cult".
There's one thing I hate more than LinkedIn, and that's Sweetwater.

Wish my hexe revolver saved loops, the loop on there now has to be the best sounding drum loop thanks to the masf possessed and the palm of my hand against strings, at any speed this loop sets the mood and gets ya pumped, now I just want to leave it on all weekend and not leave hq...just sayin.

That's awesome. Despite having rack 'Tides, I'm always really tempted whenever I see a cheap Time Factor come up because I keep seeing people do awesome things with them. I get a notion that they're less "sandboxed" than most multi-delays, thus the interesting edge uses.
