My takeaway from trying a bunch of amps at GC (after pushing through my awkwardness for about a half hour)...is that primary obstacle to making clear headed decision about buying and selling gear is my ego.

The amp that I liked playing the most was a Fender Blues Junior Tweed. I had to come back to it about 3 times to process it. Hot Rod Deluxe and DSL40c were too loud for playing in my basement at home. I tried a couple Bassbreakers and they sounded good, but a little too "polite" for my taste and I didn't like the digital reverb. Spring reverb on the Blues Junior models sounded great and liked both the clean and cranked gain tones from it. I tried a Vox as well and it sounded cool, but a little too much of that ragged blown out dirt sound I can never seem to bond with.

I'd like a reverse reverb. I've got an MXR I'm happy with so I'm not replacing it, so I'm after a second pedal for just doing reverse reverbery noise. Anything out there on the cheap with a good reverse mode for thick high gain droneage?

Do you need full wet?

Haven't used it, but PDS 3000 is a 12-bit reverb with a reverse algo.

Hardwire RV-7/Supernatural do reverse (and a lot of other things) well. I think the Digitech Polara is basically the same pedal with uglier graphics, so that probably has it too.

I think a Zoom ms70CDR might be your best bet. The Digitech's have a nice reverse, but I'm not sure they go full wet. I don't think the TCs do reverse at all. Something like the Ventris/BigSky/Space/Empress will do it, but it's overkill. I love the reverb on the Bitquest but it's sure not reverse. Maybe the next gen RRR if/when it drops? idk, it feels like there"s a market gap. Pretty sure the old Yamaha Magicstomp does it right. They can be cheap used--you can get any version (gtr/bass/acoustic) and flash it to guitar version.... I went CDR and I was pretty happy.

Oh, the [f'nhuge] Vox Delaylab has an early reflections algo that gazes well....

Heh, I've got the MS-70 and was just thinking I should keep it for the reverse reverb.

The digitech Digiverb has reverse and can do full wet.

Ah--good, I can never keep it straight (maybe it's the Hardwire that doesn't go full wet, or is it the other way around and it only does full wet?)
