Over the past couple days I've been using Tempi + Maths to create a shuffled clock for my SQ-1 and goddamn I feel like this has been a key ingredient I've been missing.
Short example, not the best but I cut out the shuffle a couple times (0:44, 1:10) and the difference it makes is staggering (to me):
The issue that a lot of cases have with Pressure Points and Rene is the Mean Well power bricks they use. Basically, they have some sort of grounding issue that makes touching them hell. I know make noise uses Volgren bricks and that there's a few others out there people have used with success. There's a couple good threads in Muffs I can link to in the morning if anyone's interested.
yurp yurp. and i've never had a problem with my PP in the Structures, but i'm a little skeered that the Touchy Touchy parts of the Swarm might have problems with cases that have wrongo psus for MN touch based jangers?

Also, in my ever slightly changing plans for my 7U (which won't grow, so new modules means others will have to go) I've been considering a Mutable Instruments Frames. This looks like a great simple and efficient module. Keyframing is something I actually use at work when not doing code and it's something that should be quite intuitive for me.
And having one knob that controls a number of things is a good way to consolidate a patch/composition, too.
So, does anyone here have one ? Any comments ?
If I got one I'd probably go for the 8HP Plancks version, because as mentioned above I don't have that many free HP. Ergonomics-wise this should be ok if I put the module in a specific location (i.e. usable without cables in the way).
I had a Frames for a long time and really enjoyed it. It's a great module, the only drawback for me was the size. I used it mostly as a dynamic mixer to change different sounds or parts with one CV source

Oh shit, did you guys see the Throbbing Gristle/Tiptop One module? The two new modes have me very interested. It might actually compete with my Radio Music
"When Tiptop Audio suggested this idea I was a little sceptical that it would be something people might want but once I started compiling the sounds I got ecited about the pontial and the possibilities – now I’m eager to hear how people will use this ‘TG DNA’ in their own music. I can’t wait…”
Actually, though, that looks pretty rad. The randomization of samples on trigger is something I'd definitely demand in a sampler module. NB: I do not have any sampler modules.
Anyone got experience with the RxMx from Make Noise? Been debating between that and a Frames. The RxMx seems more utilitarian, but I also haven't dived into the manuals to compare. It's like 2 hp more but you get an extra 2 inputs, and 2 auxiliary inputs.
yesssss. Euclidean Circlets and Kenton MIDI Through got here. holy BUTTS the Kenton is small. NICE.
i'm self medicating with some muscle relaxers and a long bath tonight, Home GrrL and i are booking hotels for our end of year Euro Trip, so noooo noises probably.
but tomorrow picking up my pair of Skipmins (woot local builders. just gotsta swing by Oakland after breaking fast with some buds.) then it's a beautiful day off of silly noisy warblings.
and trying to get the Kenton to let me clock my DAW with Pam's so i can start putting actual songs together.
woooooot.
