I don't either.John wrote:Confession: I don't care for modulation on delay pedals.
If I want my delays modulated, I'll modulate 'em with another pedal.

There's no accounting for taste I guess? What do you think about the CT5? That's essentially a modulated delay.Chankgeez wrote:I don't either.John wrote:Confession: I don't care for modulation on delay pedals.

Re: The Confessions Thread
I think the CT5 is great when other people play with it.
Not something that really suits my style of play.

Like da Chank says, if I want it, I can get it from another pedal. I don't want a wrench on my hammer for similar reasons.

Re: The Confessions Thread
If I had a CT5 and tried to use it in a band context, I'd have to be all "guys play quiet, listen to my small costly device. Oh drummer, play in exact time to my loop. Dudes please stop rocking so I can feature this already-dated sonic texture. Let us write more songs with long contemplative intros and outros and chill middle parts so that I may indulge my obsession with modulated glitchy loops. Please."Chankgeez wrote:I think the CT5 is great when other people play with it.

Re: The Confessions Thread
I mean, if were going to be all open about it, I think glitch pedals are stupid and have almost no musical use.

I can see the separate-tools-for-separate-functions argument. It seems like that's not entirely applicable here? A really flexible delay will let you blur the boundaries between all sorts of effects, not just add vibrato/chorus to your delayed signal.

Re: The Confessions Thread
I don't disagree with the sentiments provided about the Ct5 but 1. I personally love mine 2. Just saw a band that used it in a rock context and they totally ripped! I realize that may be the exception to the rule but they used it the way "it is supposed to be use" (i.e. used properties exclusive to that pedal and not another delay/granular synth thing). The band was SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE. If you guys are reading this, I loved your show in Philly a couple weeks ago!
