Anyone with a production run (non-DIY) Jove: do you have a volume drop on the filter output compared to the raw output of an oscillator? I just got a DIY build and both my DPO and Cursus Iteritas have a noticable volume drop compared to the dry signal. Not trying to undercut the builder by any means (PM'd them andthey were quite detailed and helpful), I'm just curious if this is a common characteristic of all versions of the module.

Check with the builder what value they used for R51 and R72. They should be 330K and 270K respectively . An earlier version of the build docs had those values as 100K and 10K, respectively, which would result in the lower output you describe.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
In case this interests people here : I asked Noise Engineering if they could make the BIA's decay behave like the Manis Iteritas, i.e. fully open (like a normal VCO) when fully clockwise. Sadly, it's not possible. Quoting the answer : "Nope, the hardware is different on the Manis. It would require a complete revision."
A bit sad but it's nice to see them adding new bits of features like that, their modules are already good and new ones are even smarter

Wait, so Manis can operate as a standard VCO? I never really followed through with that oneoscillateur wrote:In case this interests people here : I asked Noise Engineering if they could make the BIA's decay behave like the Manis Iteritas, i.e. fully open (like a normal VCO) when fully clockwise. Yeah, with decay at the maximum it's basically bypassing the envelope (or at least the decay stage).MrNovember wrote:Wait, so Manis can operate as a standard VCO? That's great info thanks! Makes the Manis much more interesting as that put me off the BIA despite it looking great otherwise.

So, I think I’m going to concede that the Rainmaker is too much module for me at this time, I really don’t want a complicated effect module, I just wanted a clockable delay. I took it on a trade because I’m such a big Shapeshifter fan that I would try anything with the Cylonix name on it. But, I am only using it for the 1 tap and ping pong delay, presets 1 and 2 lol!

I should check some demos of the Tapographic, or maybe the time is right for me to pick up a used DLD.

I never need all 16 taps, and I don't do deep editing sessions with the Rainmaker very often, but when I do I make sure to save anything good that comes of it. I have about 20 of my own edits saved so far, which are mostly delay into comb. Always patching that master pitch shift too.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Yeah i really need to do this and spend the time to create and SAVE some of my own because they have always been interesting but for some reason i never save them and i liked them much more than many of the presets for my uses.Warpsmasher wrote:I never need all 16 taps, and I don't do deep editing sessions with the Rainmaker very often, but when I do I make sure to save anything good that comes of it.
