Why would you use an etch of the Vitruvian Man on a pedal that is badly laid out? The cutout (which incidentally seems to serve no purpose other than housing an ugly piece of homemade jewellery) is too close to the text and too far from the top. Also it's crooked. And the janky routing.

It's just upsetting, that artwork is pretty much a masterclass in proportion and they slap it on that!

I like those Les Pauls though, they just need less Floyd.

I can appreciate that he lists "3x Rock and Roll Jeopardy champ" before mentioning Sugar Ray on his twitter account.

i let this thread roll awhile before i binge because.... my gawd. this stuff is so horrible it's so much more EFFECTIVE in clumps.

but cute story - i played a show with Sugar Ray right before they blew up and Mark McGrath was.... an interesting guy. i was excited about having a show with someone on a major label, so had picked up their first cd (for like $3 at Rasputins in Berkeley), then watched them soundcheck. after, while he watched people backline their gear so we could soundcheck i was chatting with him, asked, "so.... i listened to your first cd. some cool stuff (kinnnnnd of? i was a kid.), but you guys..... sound VERY different now."

to which he responded, "oh. yeah. Green Day was SUPER popular then, so we tried the pop punk thing. but Sublime is HUGE now so.... they told us to sound like that. see, i can sing a little bit but... i look really good with my shirt off. so we play what they tell us to play."

tl;dr - i actually respect Marky McGrathy because he knows the game he's playing and did it well.
