Schreiber is known as being a bit of a curmudgeon but from what I've read from him he seems to genuinely care and can be super helpful. He also knows his stuff very well, having been in the electronics business for decades (he designed the Moog Concertmate MG-1 in 1981, for example). Overall a very trustworthy guy but maybe not the best communicator sometimes :).

also, holy Klono's Metal Plated Gonads. didja see the (i like the FULL. NO MORE ROOM! CHIP IS FULL FINAL FEATURES UPGRADE UPDATE DAMNIT!!) update for Pam's?

From the last non Beta release I can summarise new features as :

- Voltage control of Bank switching and stepped rotation of outputs.
- Push+hold program knob on highlighted output modifier to change without committing until knob release.
- UI now displays last saved/loaded bank.
- Improve voltage control of Tempo.
- Handful of bug fixes + minor tweaks

stepped rotation and bank switching? OH YESH.

Damn, sounds like Pam's just got most of the killer features of the Tempi. Mehbeh one day I'll make the swap.

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

If it's Paul Schreiber from MOTM then yes, it was probably intended :).
lol. i had to look up MOTM.

yessuh. Paul Schreiber. is he known as a surly cactus?

it.... WAS a little off-putting. not super rude, and i really like SynTech stuff so..... whatever.

but when someone drops almost $500 on a module and politely inquires after the stated ship time has been reached.... why not be nice?

odd bodkins.

Rainmaker looks soooo goooood. but MAN that is a LARGE MODULE.
In modular, big is beautiful. You know this. :animal:
I guess I started out spoiled in that regard. I had 24u of regular rack space in my studio already, before I decided to start putting HEKs into it, so I had 24u as the initial goal from the outset (pretty much). So big modules have never been an issue for me, it's actually been more like the other way around. I like them because they fill big spaces quickly, and I've got all the room in the world for them. I have learned the importance of space saving along the way, and have laid in some pretty good density with small modules (not done there either), but I do tend to prefer big ones. I'm not a fan of mini knobs and tight/difficult finger spots, but I put up with some anyway. I do envy the 5u guys that. Big beautiful black systems with big vintage knobs and all the room in the world for cables. Swoon...

Yeah having big modules is kinda nice. Less cable clutter, better wiggling, easier visualization. I'd much rather have a larger, ergonomic module than a smaller module with a bunch of shit packed into it.

Case in point: I just bought a Jove

In other news, I really love all the shit that the trigger riot can do, but I really have to put some hours in to get the hang of it and be comfortable improvising. Keeping track of all those divisions is tricky in the moment. I wish the knobs had the same technology as the BSP, where touching a button shows you it's value without having to move it.

lol. well, i'm jealous of ANY studio space. my yarea is minuscuuuuuleeee.

but yeah. i love all the neat euro shtuff. but would be okayyyyyy with larger modules. i DO like the idea of being portable though.

lol. annnnnnnd all in with replacing the Troika with 3 b separate osc modules. have the Twin Waves, Zed3000 and E950 en route.

WOOT.

After playing with the Mescaline, and despite some of it's draw backs, I think I'm ready to take the plunge.

Where do I start guys? What would you recommend for a beginner?

Oh and I have fat sausage fingers, so bigger cables are a must for me.

Jesus will be a robot.

You’re gonna break ILF if you do this. Please show restraint (I know you won’t).
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
