Yeah man that looks really clean, nice work! I was going to build the stripboard layout of that one, but I may just get that PCB if PMowdes still has some!digi2t wrote:Rainy weekend means lots of building...
Harvey Dent is finally finished. This is straight on clone of the Schumann Two Face Fuzz.
As always, many thanks to PMowdes for the great PCB's.

Pretty BA.

Re: Let's see your finished DIY projects!
After much tribulation, this one is finally boxed and done. The board layout (done by pickdropper) has long been verified, but I wanted to try out some new finishing techniques. I used rattle-can auto touch-up paint (4 coats), then laser-etched the artwork, then filled in with Sharpie (yes, Sharpie), and finally clear coat on top. It worked, but this particular example isn't perfect; it's not even all that pretty. But I'm proud of it because it was a lot of work and I learned a lot in the process.
Also, I thought I had the pots on hand, but didn't. Then I ordered, but ordered the wrong kind. So it's taken me a couple weeks to finish the build.
So yeah, it's kinda ugly. Also, the guts are far from tidy, and I badly mis-drilled the I/O/Power jacks. It's a case study in why you shouldn't just eyeball the drilling, especially with no center punching or pilot hole.
I'd never in a million years sell anyone something this ugly, but this one was always intended for me, so I'm fine with the final product. It sturdy and works well. Good enough for rock n roll, especially when I'm headlining Madison Square Bedroom.

I'll just say for posterity that all of my pedals are much uglier and I've built like 50 or so and none of them are that neat. I applaud your presentation. I mean that. It gives dudes like me something to aspire to with the craft.

This is a dumb joke I can make cause I work with lasers for a living but...
Lasers are a lot like boats, it's way better to have a friend who owns one.

Re: Let's see your finished DIY projects!

Made my own mini green russian. Troubleshooted it for a a few hours, rebuilt it entirely, before I realized I had a bad input jack. Never had a bad input jack before.
At least that means I have a second with different transistors ready to be housed
Odd question for culture jam, why do you only have one dustcap in the Triton?

I made this a while ago - an Ampeg Scrambler kit into a pedal case I bought s/h.
I thought it would be fun to have something that sounded nothing like you'd expect if you recognise the image
