Carpet stacking is strong. Are you using the SP404 as a recording device, not just like for samples? If so, I am curious on your thoughts about using it that way. Seems capable for further sound manipulation. I thought about doing that too, but my next step in recording was getting into multitracking on a digital 8 track (Tascam DP008) from just using a stereo recorder (Zoom H2n).

I can barely remember those days.. but...yes, created a good amount of cd-rs with it....16mb sd card goes a long way....stack some sample banks, record on the fly, with the on board effects, going into my peavey amp with on board fx, sending that into my vinyl to cd-r recorder, then played back into the sp404, usually using the isolater or (vinyl sim & dj looper, ect.) for a final mix of that backing track...
so it would be the background starting point, then id paint with it...over it...those days were pure alchemy, had micro cassettes and mic's plugged into it, sometimes id get a cassette i recorded of people on the bus talking or just me walking to the store(id have a tape recorder always) and let the whole tape run into the delay then id, take a recording of that and play it back into the delay again with another new pre recorded field cassette going into it at same time..and in those days I had no pedals....idk wtf i was doing but the sound collages turned out great.
so yeah, experiment with it.
now in days I just like recording snippits of people sayin stuff that hits a chord with me...and just now while screwin around with it I remembered you asked about it so here I am, recorded a little diddy with a particle and judder going into the 404's reverb and used a truckloud and the filter on me gristlizer to play over it with....siiiiiiiiick.
no clue what i just said....somthin about alchemy.

oh yeah, been using that distortion on the sp 404....that slicer is fuckin weird in a great way...gotta love reversing everything!

Ended up with some angry hiker pulled the plug after 45 minutes.

Two things terrify me about that picture. One is the thought of lugging it up a mountain, the other is what would happen to Bergen if that Traynor were to fall into it.

Great setup I imagine a drone/noise concert was not what some of those hikers were expecting as a reward at the top, though.

Fortunately there is a cablecar going up the mountain.
Don't know what would happen if the Traynor fell in, but the drummer dropped a cymbal and that almost started rolling down the mountain side. And this was during an official hike that ALOT of people are part of. They walk over all the 7 mountains which surrounds the town. Would probably have chopped some limbs of someone if it had gone over the edge.

We where at the end of our set, and had started to fade out(being 7 og is, that took a while). So when the sound just stopped and we realized what had happened, er just thought it was funny. The guy who did the crime came over to is afterwards and started yelling! "This is the worst music I have ever heard!! What is the meaning of this!!?"

I can't fully explain why this just made me laugh so hard. It's so absurd. I like to imagine a different version of this sentiment with the same level of fervor. Like someone walking up to a poet giving a reading, slapping the notebook out of their hand and screaming "I find your prose to be uninspired! What is the meaning of this??!!".
