I think I would find more benefit renting cheap synths. I want to try all the Roland "Boutique" but don't want to "own" them.comesect2.0 wrote:Any of you tried that web site where you can rent pedals? ...just thought of it gasin to at least try a rm-1n at the end of me chain....

I'd have to think about it / draw it out, but I want to do the 50's wiring on my Telemaster build with a switchable treble bleed cap.

I couldn't understand why that tele sounded less classic-tele-ish than anything else I have and it's like... "OOOH, they just forgot how to wire them i guess???"tremolo3 wrote:![]()

Yea the SP404A looks basically the same as the 404SX except for some color changes. I wonder what all is different?? Probably nothing that warrants flipping my SX & buying the new one

associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)
I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
as far as i can tell nothing. the two things that they detail as new features (sequencing from external device and the glitch effects on the TR8) aren't even for the SP but rather the TR8. triggering/sequencing from ext device via MIDI IN has been on every SP all the way back to the 202...baremountain wrote:Yea the SP404A looks basically the same as the 404SX except for some color changes. i'm not at all surprised, roland does not seem to understand the SP sampler like the users do or they don't care.
the manual does not look any different to me either.
they just gave it an AIRA branding basically.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I've been agonizing over buying a new guitar. Leaning heavily towards a Jazzmaster, since I play surf rock and I also like dabbling in some shoegaze and noise rock, so it's got a lot of crossover potential. I've been eyeing a used '62 AVRI w/ a Mastery bridge, but also considering doing a parts build from Warmoth, MJT or some other place. That way I could get the finish I want and a maple board. Cheaper too, though more work obviously. I wouldn't mind a project to have an excuse to sit at my workbench once or twice a week.

Go for it, JMs are love, If you have the chance, try the J Mascis Squier, that neck is surprisingly amazing, rosewood fretboard though.
I'm just waiting for Squier to release a Jaguar with a black body, because I don't want to repaint (ruin) one.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I have a Squier VM Jag and love it, totally stock. I'm going to splurge on this one and get something higher quality. I really like 3 tone burst, black guard and maple board, it's my favorite color combo. So I was considering doing the parts build thing for that. The AVRI I have my eye on is burst with rosewood and it's got the Mastery and already setup, which is cool. A lot of people seem to think pretty much any aftermarket JM is better than any Fender stock one, but I have no clue.tremolo3 wrote:Go for it, JMs are love, If you have the chance, try the J Mascis Squier, that neck is surprisingly amazing, rosewood fretboard though.

I've only owned Fender and Squiers JM, so no clue there. Just keep in mind that assembled and highly modded guitars are not easy to sell.

I don't really flip stuff anymore, I pretty much just record at home now and that's it. I sold all my mojo stuff and just kept the gear I like.

I mean...my main bass is a no name P bass that I made/built. The only reason I haven't sold my multi thousand dollar costing custom bass is I feel bad, because the guy who made it is so nice lol.
