He prob got $1000 cash or $1500 trade in value.
Do
You think it would ever sell on reverb?
as a current gc employee, you'd get 60% of the price we're gonna sell your guitar for. "we" offer 10-20% on new gear if you trade in depending on promos or if you get friends and family coupons.
so yeah he still made bank.
as for the reverb question. i've had shit sit there forever. desirable and reasonably priced gear too. same for the cl. and fuck ebay, i used it as a kid but it's become such a pain in the ass.

Honestly, I was just in the toilet financially. I totally get selling to GC instead of eBay. eBay could take WEEKS to give me my money and I had to front the shipping. I was unable to pay for gas or food for a stretch because I had to ship items. It was a nightmare. Yes, you only get 60% or so at GC but it is cash in hand. Sometimes, you need that.

I have to confess I'm proud as hell of that fact
Word. I Just finally sold an amp on Reverb and shipping it was another $50 than the $50 I thought it would be. (when I bought it, shipping was $50 on the listing, plus that's about what Reverb's shipping estimator said for UPS ground.)
So that, plus fees, starts to eat into me getting my money back on this amp. Had it for less than a month and lost money on it; gotta wait for it to be delivered before Reverb will send me the money, too. Speeding up the shipping would've cost $181, IIRC. So I'm just in the hole on the financials until then

Never trust estimates from anywhere when it comes to shipping.
Create your own label on the shipper's website (you don't have to print/pay for it, yet, of course), weigh your package and add a pound or two, measure the box size, etc. I strongly suggest figuring in the cost of insurance into the price, too.
After multiple instances of FedEx fucking me over, I refuse to use them unless it's COD.

I'm starting to wonder if the shipping charges through Reverb are more than if you do it through a private account on UPS, USPS, Fedex. They are advertised as you get a break (usually a couple bucks) by using them but Reverb seems to be getting so chintzy I wouldn't put it past them to tack on fees and it actually winds up costing more.
Shipping large things seems so erratic price wise. Last guitar I shipped coast to coast through UPS Ground for under 50 bucks and the box weighed 24lbs...I'm pretty sure I've paid way more than that in the past for shorter distance.
The absolute worst thing ever is taking something to a Fedex or UPS place and have them box it and ship it for you, the prices they want for that are always comical. Last time I asked how much it would cost for a UPS store to box and ship a 200 dollar bike frame that weighed 4 lbs they quoted me 300 dollars.
i think everyone takes a hit on shipping nowadays. it sucks. but fossil fuels are expensive and big freight like an amp that weighs 50+ lbs. is gonna cost you quite a bit to ship. i'm straight up on reverb ads. when i sold my svt. the shipping was $150 but i made a note in the listing and told the buyer that i know shipping will be more than $150 and i will not eat it, so he paid up another $80. yes, it was over $200 ship an ampeg svt head.

I should've done that but didn't know until I got to UPS. Just wanted it gone and money to me sooner. Oh well.

I always package everything I ship myself. Unless I had the original box or it was something small, I've almost always actually made or modified my own boxes. It just takes a little measurement and planning and I think the most outrageous price I ever paid to ship anything ground, insured in the CONUS was maybe $75. I shipped my VTM120 for something like $50 fully insured through FedEx Home Delivery. UPS is usually more expensive, USPS is great for pedals and small stuff, but terrible for amps and instruments as they get really expensive. Certain times, where the destination is just way out in the middle of nowhere, far from a hub, you just can't help it and it costs more. That's why I would always weigh my stuff and estimate the shipping box size (looking stuff up on Amazon is a good guide for this, if you need help) and get an estimate before even listing something for sale. I'd just estimate by getting a shipping cost for the farthest place away I could think of, which usually covered me.
It's EQD day, so you can find EQD stuff at most US dealers for 15% off. Some of the mail order sites even do 15% off already-discounted used merchandise.
I'm thinking of snagging it but I might be getting something more costly so still on the fence. Think it would sound cool running my TR-707 through for "dat gabber m8"
EDIT: Yeah I can't get this, just acquired another pedal so for anyone that wanted this...good luck!
