I've started to watch BMX vids. Not that I'll ever be able to ride like this, but :whateva:

This reminds me, I still need to go get a new key for the trails here (they are gated off and the lock gets replaced the first of every year)

CAAD X are awesome...great bike.

As for Osprey, thats a nice looking back pack.

I commute too, and use to use Chrome backpack...but now days, i leave most my clothes at work and have a chrome hipbag where i put my essentials and a small saddle back that goes under my saddle where i put undies and socks. riding without a backpack has been a revelation!!

Those bowman look really awesome. Awesome prices from what I can see.

One of the nicest frames I ever had was a steel (carbon rear fork) Serotta CDA I bought complete off craigslist for 300 bucks. I did the 80s steel thing for a while and built up a SL Ciocc frame which was...interesting. Speed wobbles above 50mph. Scary as fuck.

Aluminum frames feel super amazing when putting down good power up climbs because of how stiff they are. I LOVE aluminum frames.

I see REI has a new inhouse bike brand that seem not too bad pricewise

That thar is my Raleigh Grand Prix 650b conversion. For anyone who feels uninspired by their road bikes, I highly recommend making the upgrade!

Thanks, ThurberMingus, that's a kind offer. I've failed to mention that I ended up picking up a cheap BMX bike over the winter. I've also been meaning to take a picture of it so I can post it in this thread. Have not done so. So, I'll just post a photo I've found in an image search. I snagged one o' these:

Image

took a few weeks to get used to riding on 20" wheels. I haven't touched my city bike since. The BMX is so much more convenient.
Nice to see someone else rides BMX. Though I haven't ridden in years. I stopped kinda before the low seats became a thing.

I still have my old Standard STA - the none air hardened- sitting in my garage. I need a few things for it. It's heavy as hell compared to the new bikes/frames.

I really like that bike, but I am not all skilled on those little BMX bikes. Nothing like this guy:
