I actually don't get over there enough wwhen I'm doing random gear searches (for topics/gear we haven't covered here yet) so i haven't noticed an abundance of "those sorts" of ads.

People tried to tell me it's due to my browsing history. Which's complete bullshit. There're usually a mix of things I have no interest in.

I think many of the ads that appear there are due to the general demographic of TGPeers. That's just my hunch though.

Double down on hating whitey, essentially. It's not even clear what this strategy is getting the left...the right ran the most racist candidate in over a hundred years, and the Republicans actually gained ground among minority voters. The left is so pathetic at this point that racism is basically their only issue...Trump even stole working class populism. Look at the desperation wafting off of this piece:

The left is upset because Trump said Black people have it bad, and so you get the articles saying "actually, black people are doing really well, even better than whites on some measures!" Now, let's be honest...suppose Trump were to say "black people are doing really well, even better than whites on some measures!" The left could not let that stand, because their entire movement at this point rests on calling conservatives racists. They would have to say "TRUMP SAYS BLACK PEOPLE ARE DOING WELL, HE IS DENYING WHITE PRIVILEGE!" It doesn't matter what Trump says, the left must figure out some way to spin it as racist, because they're a one issue party at this point. Well, two issues if you count opposition to tax cuts that are super popular among the leading voting demographics. Nice job, left!

The whole theory about stupid white rednecks ruining America covers up a few really under-appreciated ironies. First, it's arguably in working class whites' rational self-interest to vote for Trump. I mean, suppose you're a coal miner in WV. Trump is saying he's gonna bring back coal jobs, Hillary is saying she's going to put you out of work. Who is going to tell that family they shouldn't vote for Trump? So now everyone is supposed to vote their rational self-interest except for working class whites, and they alone must vote on some higher, selfless moral ground? Now, here's the real sick irony: the only class of people who can afford to take the stand against "white privilege," at least among whites, is the most privileged white people. It's easy to look down your nose at working class whites and preach on high about white privilege and doing the right thing when you're a tenured professor at a university making 80k a year (or a columnist for the NYT). This requires absolutely no sacrifice. Moreover, it's actually in his self-interest to do so (even though he would have you believe that his stand against white privilege is selfless). Now, if you're a coal miner in WV...you're going to vote against Trump, who is saying he's going to bring your jobs back, in order to fight white privilege? He's going to say "fuck that," and you know what...that's what he should say.
