Don't forget that they've started hiding the data to avoid allowing used prices to dip low enough to cut into their profit margin. :whateva:

Same. I think this dude's just a Yankee-of-the-East as we call 'em here in Texas. No better than a normo Yankee if ya ask me (why is there no badass cowboy smilie???)
:idk:
I ship stuff all over the country and there's definitely a notable price difference when crossing certain parts of the country (granted, I also ship stuff that's heavier than your average guitar pedal and insured for ~$1000 a pop).
Yep! the further away from civilization you are, the higher the shipping prices are. I remember when I sold my Blue Box to Blooghost it cost like $25 to ship a pedal to him because he was out in the boonies.
good deals are here.

Man fuck Reverb. After I found out they were owned by Chicago Music Exchange, I lost all respect.

...wow. & word. definitely not liking the huge fees on ebay...but at least they seem to have their shit together now..its one thing tho if paypal charges 2.00 processing fees...but reverb with a 5 dollar instant process charge then more than a month later wants their %...this is why my shit takes forever to sell cuz i gotta price it so high to make up for 3 different types of fees...

I wish Reverb was private sellers only. All the dealers on it now have jacked priced through the roof for so much shit. Private seller sees he has the same thing as a shop, shop is already overpriced so private seller pushes his price way up thinking his price is okey dokey now. Wind up with pages and pages of crummy particle board champ clones for 900 dollars that have been on there for over a year. Dealers typically have their used stuff for 2x the price of what stuff sells for in the price guide or sold items on ebay for guitars and amps.

Their fees are ok, can't really gripe too hard compared to ebay.

Ebay seems to be one of the only places for realistic deals, cept no one uses it because of their retarded fees.

Sometimes, you can find incredible deals on the used part of guitar center believe it or not. Lots of over priced junk but some times there will be a gem or two in there for a reasonable price.

Both businesses *[are operated] by the same individual. In a country, where 3-4 mega corporations own nearly everything, it's amazing that you'd be surprised by one individual owning 2 companies. He hasn't exactly created a monopoly in the same way that Amazon & Wal-Mart have devastated many independent retailers. I'm not personally bothered at all by the CME-Reverb connection. Having an online marketplace exclusively for musicians was a great idea, and it has been a welcome replacement for eBay.

1) It's so much easier to search. I can search for 'drone commander' and not get dozens of e-mails about board games and action figures.
2) The fees are about 1/3rd of eBay's.
3) I no longer have to deal with eBay's terrible customer service team.

I actually think that CME and Reverb have been able to operate somewhat independently, but the decision to open the Mothership storefront was a bad decision from a PR standpoint. It's not really bringing in a ton of revenue and it's generating friction amongst the site's most frequent customers, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it axed in the future.

*edit: Kalt was the second owner of CME, not its original founder.

How do you suppose they'll do that? Just stop buying and let their stock dwindle?
