I have a Retro-Sonic that I love, does the lush CE-1 thing well. Also the Providence Anadime is rill pretty.

Wait for the next Fairfield Circuitry pedal (random vibrato).

I like the Boss PS-3 for chorus, always reminds of Panopticon by Isis. Small Clones seem cheap and plentiful too.

Got a DOD FX 60 incoming, plan to mod it to do vibrato, true bypass, and maybe a feedback loop/alternate setting button.

Re: Chorus peds
CE-2 was lush as fuck.
CE-2B gets fairly close, and it doesn't cost a leg.

Re: Chorus peds
I normally really dislike chorus, at least when I'm in my room by myself which is regretfully the majority of my playing. When actually playing with others I dig them. All about context, you know? Same as the two flangers I have had, dug them with others but eventually flipped them because I wasn't playing with people often so they sat ignored for months.vidret wrote:wait, i thought we were hating on modulation? i must've forgot to hook up my hive mind.
(cosmichorus, if i'd ever get a chorus, for sure)

I've been digging the EHX Neo Clone as of late for lush chorus textures, though it only seems marginally better than the EHX Small Clone emulation on my Zoom MS-70 CDR.

Agree. Love mine. Got it for like $35 used. I heard Peter Steele used a standard Boss chorus and he's the whole reason I got one. Smooths up grit nicely when late in the signal chain.oscillateur wrote:The Boss CE-3 is cheap and nice (and will likely survive you). Works as a vibrato too, which is a cool bonus.

I've never used a vintage boss chorus but I liked the Super a million times better than the Ensemble. Screw you TB Tool fanbois.

Peter Steele is a legit reason to purchase any gear item.rickenbastard wrote:Agree. Love mine. Got it for like $35 used. This, seriously PS3 in dual detune has killed every other chorus pedal I've owned!braaandooon wrote:I like the Boss PS-3 for chorus, always reminds of Panopticon by Isis. Small Clones seem cheap and plentiful too.
Deflating Expectations.

I'm pretty happy with my Minifooger Chorus but I still sometimes regret selling my XO Polychorus. I prefer to have controls of delay time and feedback, I think massively increases the flexibility of a chorus pedal.

Re: Chorus peds
Had one for several months now.DRodriguez wrote:Anywazan tried the waza chorus?
My primary reason for getting it was the CE-1 modes, since that's what I'm using in my c.1980 Jazz Chorus. I was able to dial in "couldn't tell the difference" versions of my standard chorus and vibe settings on the JC if I flipped the mod in the amp off within a couple minutes.
Added bonus, it's MUCH MUCH MUCH quieter.
Does about what I remember of the CE-2 sounds as well, but I've always come down on the CE-1/JC side of the divide.
Not cheap, but does exactly everything it claims to do.
