Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
So I want to add some keys to the live band as well as my home noodles. I think they'll end up essential to making the bedroom music I want to make more real. I had been set on one of the roland boutique little guys, the Juno specifically, but when I played it in real life it just didn't do anything for me. I love the sounds from the Volca FM. Is that something I can play live like a keyboard? Or is moreso for programming beats into? I think I'd want to use a bigger midi keyboard for actually playing along with a band, can I do that with the Volca FM?

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
If you have a MIDI keyboard you can play the Volca FM as you want... Only one thing though : it does not recognize velocity through MIDI (it uses a slider for this), so unless they update the firmware or you buy a custom cable (with a chip that translates the messages in it) you'll play all notes from your keyboard with the same velocity.
Still, great little machine, easy to program compared to a DX7 and full of lovely sounds.

Awesome. Thanks for the info! Yeah I think it will mostly be for pretty textures and stuff. If I want to actually play a proper like piano part I'd get something else.

I don't think there is a pedal like that. You should get someone to build you one.UglyCasanova wrote:Oh ya? Which one?comesect2.0 wrote:thought mantic did that

Like Chankgeez said, biloma....But it is kinda like playing under the envelope and then quick rise to fuzzy filter sounding death.UglyCasanova wrote:Are there any fuzz pedals with envelope controlled tone? The harder you play, the more highs you get. Would be cool to alternate between a soft-picked thumping sound and a harsh and spitty fuzz with playing dynamics only.
Chase Bliss Brothers.
46 can kinda do that at higher gains.
Mudlark can do some stuff like that (kinda like hit hard, splat fuzz, play light sub osc bass). Probably pretty dependent on input impedance.

I just want it in one single, small enclosure. Is that too much to ask?

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!

Why couldn't you've asked for the much more "common" envelope control over gain or something?

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
raptio arrived today! i'm so stoked! i was afraid it wouldn't meet my expectations, which have been building up for far too long, but it is just as awesome as the hype makes it to be!
i like how the rate knob does some sort of subtle modulation while in hold mode (just wish it would be easier to turn with my foot), and how i can make the hold mode sound like a vibrato or something by stepping on and off the footswitch. too much work to use it for a longer time, but i guess it could come in handy as a way of making the sound more alive or something? anyway, a nice surprise!
i guess instead of making a back to basics rock thing out of my pedaltrain mini, i'm just gonna put loopers and glitch stuff on it and use it to have fun at home.
i'm thinking: LAL88-clone -> tuner -> Dittox2 -> Possessed -> Raptio -> CT5
not sure if the Possessed would bring anything worthwile or if i should put something else on instead. gotta test different stuff out.
EDIT: i hope onespot plays well with the bunch. if not, i guess the small strymon power supply looks kinda good for it's size.

Apparently, according to a single comment on a single post in my IG feed, internet thinks the Laney Supergroup sucks.
I'm struggling to work out why.
Anyone more internet savvy, or maybe just savvy in general, care to enlighten this poor dinosaur?

Don't name your company "Horizon Devices" because I'm gonna keep on reading it as "Horizontal Devices".

You don't want to get horizontal with their devices?Chankgeez wrote:Don't name your company "Horizon Devices" because I'm gonna keep on reading it as "Horizontal Devices".
