Spaceracer Fuzz

Post by Teej212 »

I just designed a fuzz, tentatively named space racer fuzz.

it started out as a dirty boost i made from 3 or four parts, then i kept cascading the circuits and adding a few parts here and there, and i got a muffled fuzz. pretty cool, but then i started throwing silicon diodes into the circuit. adding one in a certain place made it louder, then i added another and it went octave crazy! i also used vintage fish capacitors and some sozo style caps, dating from the late 70's to early 80's, so theres a bit of MOJO in there.

its got three knobs- gain, scramble, volume. its got two flip switches- self destruct , and de-orbit

gain- just adjusts the input gain, goes from the muffled sound to an intense octave fuzz
scramble- adjusts the intensity of the octave
volume

self destruct- oscillation, tunable with the guitar volume knob
de-orbit- takes out the octave, makes the scramble knob into a drive control

i hope to have a video soon, but im telling you this fuzz is crazy. if anyone wants me to i would probably make them at about 75 bucks :idk: we will see!

I love the name and the circuit sounds promising. Can't wait for clips. :joy:

wow, i had no clue this would get so many responses so fast! heres the only mojo issue, i probably only have enough to make 5-7 with the mojo, but then im gonna have to find more..not gonna lie, i stole them from my electronics class

also, heres another thing. so far, everytime i touch the circuit, put in a new component, move a component, i get a new sound. would you guys rather i put out like 3 or 4 pedals based on the one circuit for 65-75 bucks:
octave-three knobs
no octave-two knobs + switch
intense fuzz- two knobs + switch

or would you rather i put out one pedal with lots of switches, but most likely running for 100+ bucks

oh and for bass, both of the no octave ones sound great, but they all sound awesome on guitar. the octave one is extremely octave-y so no chorsd get through at the highest gain level

More switches, more better.

hope for clips tomorrow!

sounds awesome! I'm in the more pedals-less-switches camp, probably cause I'm half retarded with pedals with more than 3 knobs

Holy shit, that is a real fuzzy octave right there. Really useable, though the chords are a bit messy, but still sounds really good.
