BBW is still my favourite after all these years and I remember hearing Blood from Zion when I was like 17 (which is a very long time ago now) and thinking, "this is quite possibly the best thing ever."

New output has been consistent and not shit, though. And they still kill it live so I'm not complaining.

That album didn't come out in the last decade. It was released in 2005 so your statement isn't valid. I love the songs on Snakes but the production is weak. The title track is one of my favorite HoF songs ever though.

I think Surrounded by Thieves is still my gun to the head favorite record but the title track on BBW makes that hard. Pre double-kick HoF>Later output, IMO. I think Kensel had back surgery or something, but once he started substituting his tom work with kicks the band lost 'something' (along with Pike's vocal problems and his new voice). Whatever, still love the band, still listen to their records, but the first three are where it's at, IMO.
This. His drumming was so great on the earlier stuff. When he added the second kick in there they sounded like Motorhead, especially with Matt Pike's emphysema vocals starting around then.

Scored a Concert Bass head at a pawn shop for $185. Pots and jacks are a little scratchy, but it's playable. Anyone play through a Concert Bass on guitar?

Yall gonna shun me from here but aside from one or two songs I can't stand them. Love their attitude, but their songs are kinda boring to me. I feel the same way about Sleep and Electric Wizard, too.

Looking forward to hear what they sound like as I have been lusting after the BLK TRI instagram for a while. I currently have a black winter in my main guitar which is ok but I find myself liking the split coil sound of it better than the full humbucker. Makes me kinda want to try the new blk tri telecaster pickup with a humbucker or p90 in the neck.

The amount of times that part of 10,000 Years whether it's the drum intro or that monster bassline pop into my head on a daily basis is absurd. I had no idea who High On Fire were, I had heard the name Sleep but I didn't even know what Matamp was at the time...I can't even recall the year (1998 or '99) but I went to see Neurosis at the Justice League in SF (now the Independent) and I just saw a stage filled with stacks with these amps that looked like Oranges but were Green. When George Rice layer into that bassline I was beyond hooked. Such an amazing show and insane tone that's never recovered from his parting with Joel.
