Currently downsizing my board for NAMM, but I classify anything that repeats something over and over yet doesn't fade out (like a Delay) a Looper. I have them scattered through my chain so even if doesn't overdub (like most stutter pedals), recording into another stutter or looper is basically overdubbing etc.

Micro Looper/Stutter/Hold:
- Hexe Revolver II
- Hexe Revolver DX
- Hexe Revolver DT
- S3N Super Flutter
- M.A.S.F. Raptio
- Bananana Mandalala
- MWFX Judder (this can be dialed into Fade out)

Not Quite Loopers:
- Montreal Assembly Count to 5
- Montreal Assembly 856 for Zellersasn

Looper as a Bonus:
- Eventide H9
- Strymon Timeline

Actual Looper:
- TC Ditto x2
- TC Ditto x4
- Boomerang III + SideCar +Roller

Boomerang or Ditto x2.

I like running the x2 at the beginning of a chain and running a standard Ditto at the end of the chain.

The EHX didn't do it for me, the DL4 is gigantic. So is the Boomerang. You could jam a few of the Ditto all over the place and have really easy to use dedicated loopers in a few spots. Just sayin' that's what I dig.

Love loopers. The Boomerang III is my main looper, but have a RC-2 om the middle of the board, post dirt pre delay/reverb.
Will probably swap it for a Ditto X2.

I don't the Boomerang is THAT big though. Was surprised when I got mine.

Anyone messed with a 45000?
I've recently realized that I hate looping (in the traditional sense - my ct5 and 856 aren't being considered) as of late because the tech I have (Ditto X2) just doesn't cut it for me. I'd ideally like 2+ independent tracks with volume control, options to sync them, the option to quantize to an incoming MIDI clock, undo/redo, and independent fx per track. From what I've read, the Boomerang and the 45000 do this. Both are pretty expensive, but the Boomerangs seem like the best to use with your feet, while the 45000 seems like a pretty great studio tool (although the foot controller seems useful for a board/tabletop hybrid setup, which I have definitely done before).
Honestly with all the current tech, I'm pretty disappointed in what's available for looping. I've thought about getting a Ditto X4, but I'm just not sold having heard a bunch of mixed reviews. Also the Ditto X2 has pretty bad (or at least a noticeable decrease in) fidelity tbh, and for some reason people don't really mention that - is that still the case in the X4?

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Yeah, there is no perfect looper out there. But it seems like people have very different needs when it comes to looper features, so it's hard to please everybody with one looper and not have crazy feature bloat / complexity. The boomerang is almost perfect for me. If it only had per-loop fade-outs I would be content. Sad to hear that the tech guy died. I had seen on their website that they are trying to sell the company. Guess that's why :(

I hope Boomerang gets sold to someone with good techs and a lot og money.
The Boomerang is perfect for me. If I could change one thing I would ass an FX-loop and and FX-mix for each loop. I want the side car, but they seem impossible to get hold of?
Is there any midi-wizards out there that could make a hack Side Car?

Yeah I used to want the sidecar, but I'm not ready to give up that much pedal board space for it.

There is a boomerang + sidecar up on reverb right now: https://reverb.com/item/3966842-boomera ... d-side-car

1) buy
2) flip boomerang
3) ???
4) profit

After shipping to Norway and custom-fees there wouldn't be much profit. ;)

I don't keep it om my board, cause I don't use it with every band.
I just put it om the floor. And it fits in the front pocket on the pedalboard bag(along with exp-pedal for Pitchfactor), so I don't have bring extra bags to gigs/rehearsals. :)

i tried upgrading to a Ditto 2, but tripped over it in the dark and broke one of the switches. so it's back to the Head Rush. i can't afford to go in for one of the longer looping options.

this is my fear. the headrush is spot on but limited. think I'm going to just get that pedal genie thing and do the trial month for a lot of this stuff.
I'll know right away if it works or not. the ehx 720 looks cool. I like the x4 but I do not want a lot of software if any in my guitar rig really. though the midi option for looping sounds interesting. never heard anybody say anything about fidelity on the x2. though that's what I hate about BOSS, their buffers do awful things to my amp's sound. had all of their loopers through the years and never sounded right. even the smmh with it's .5 lag is better than a BOSS IMO.
I heard of Looperalitive or something like that was a proto sometime ago. Thought the x4 would be the headrush/dl4 everyone wanted but not yet.

and had the DL4 for a while years ago too, it was fun. but thought the sound was not that great for anything other than getting crazy but a lot of high end on my setup. and it's usually bassy... the Akai sounds like it should when playing back through my setup. REAL. not a copy of a copy like you know it's recorded, that's how Boss sounds to me.

Why doesn't Akai make one? Ehx is really missing out, unless it's awesome? Reggie Watts uses one. So maybe you have to be a mad genius? he also uses a DL4...
I love EHX, so we shall see. I think I should keep the Akai though to compare the ease of use and what a looper should do well.

From what I've read about it you can have the features you're talking about decomposing. I'm actually looking for almost the same feature set. I just wasn't going to have any effects and I wanted midi in/thru. Realistically I think whether or not I add effects will depend on how hard it is to implement. I'd rather have an effects loop as opposed to built in effects, but we'll see (then instead of an off/off switch for effects you could use the expression pedal to adjust the balance of wet/dry signals). First I'll buy the board and see what it can do.
this sounds interesting. and though technologically-inclined, a bit out of my wants to setup for my rig...
I'd need a tech to operate it. or I'd never make music... like now.

one of these days, maybe. yes, even.
but now I need simple meets advanced in a at my feet setup.
it does take years, these dudes are not joking.

Where there's a lot of starter programs out there I think I'll be able to get something that's working in a few months? From what I've found people who are using the axoloti for looping are trying to do something a lot more complex. The axoloti's super cheap now thanks to how strong the dollar is against the euro, so, I'm going to order one when I get my next paycheck. If I get something that works well I'll start a thread on it.
