Don't feel too bad. I traded my first triangle for a Boss HM-2 some time in 1984ish :picard: :picard: :picard:

No reason to be embarassed, looks like almost everyone here has owned some sort of muff at one time or another. :thumb:

The Black Russian seems to be kind of a "My First Fuzz", it seems

I think that combined with the Xtortion before it actually sound really nice (dare I say mildly fuzz face-y), even through my less-than-awesome-for-dirt-pedals Peavey Backstage Chorus.

Big ol' Green Russian Big Muff. Got it for $25 at a "midnight madness" sale.

And that's where my fuzz madness began...

From there, I added a Rat for contrast, and that was my setup for a long, long time. Until I discovered the EHX Bass MicroSynth... and then discovered DE:fx... and then discovered the Malekko B:assmaster... and then found the Mellowtone big box Wolf Computer... and then went a little crazy with fuzz...
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.
