Part of the huge price swings is because some guy will get $1500+ for a museum piece with factory swag. Then the next goober comes along and asks for a comparable price, despite his unit not being anywhere near as desirable. Then suddenly everyone has joined the inflation bandwagon. It's such a small niche, that one out-of-control bidding war can drive up prices for years.
I am guilty of this.
I own X pedal. I'll never be able to afford another one or be able to replace it with the prices they're going for. I may not be using it that much, but I'll put it up on reverb for a super high price and if someone snags it, great. If not, i still have it.
$170 for a *used* big muff clone? Couldn't anyone who's handy with an iron put that togeter for like $30, and make it look nicer while he's at it?
No hate or whise ass -ism, I just...genuinly don't get it
No offense to Sonny, but I think it's mostly hype. I've heard demos and have never had the desire to own one, but people have brand loyalty even when there's only one pedal. LOL!

Well, they rarely come up for sale. So, I thought someone might be interested.
A lot of people think they sound good. Including me. the one I got.
It's not the most aggresive Muff, but it does sound nice all throughout its range. I think that's due to Sonny's ears.

It sold pretty quickly so somebody thinks it's worth it.
I've always been super curious about them. Everyone speaks highly of them and Sonny seems like a rad dude.

He is a rad dude and I'd try one from him directly but I'm not that keen on three knob muffs. Especially when there are so many and 90% sound the same.
Also Dans is made on turret with mojo parts. To my ears it's more aggressive and has a ton of clarity. His is one I love for sure.
