I'm starting to think my Xbone was the worst purchase I've made in years. It literally gets used to watch youtube and Netflix or Vudu. The games all suck balls hard. What the fuck Microsoft. Like what the literal fuck? The only thing that's semi interesting is the Oculus Rift and that shit seems stupid as fuck, plus holy shit the price. Fuck video games.

I have been away from video games for like more than a decade. Ever since my wife chucked my OG Xbox out of our second story apartment window. In her defense this was right after Halo 2 had come out and well just don't setup a second TV in the living room during your first year of marriage.

On that note I am buying my 7 year old daughter a Wii U for her birthday. Mostly for the Minecraft, Smash Bros, Mario Maker junk. Does the Wii U have any decent adult-ish games?
Looking forward to at least having a console in the house again. No way I could convince the wife that a Wii and a PS4 would be a good idea.

there's a lot of great Wii titles actually, the wii u not really yet since the maker's demise and focusing on the next generation console that's coming.

I don't know, if it's used effectively it will be fine. Though I have a sneaking suspicion that i'd just replay Alien Isolation over and over. But the 3D hypetrain died years ago and the 3DS is still really neat in my opinion.

Picking up Mafia 3 tomorrow. I hear it's not as good as the first 2, but fuck it, all this Red Dead teasing has me in the mood for some open world shenanigans. Plus, I get to shoot KKK members in the face.

I've been sold on it from the beginning. I would've rather wait for it than get our PS4. But, wives, y'all...

Wonder if it will act as a tablet, as well?

i'm curious about how ergonomic it is to play as a handheld. if it's comfy and compact enough i probably won't hesitate but if it ends up being as clunky as the wii u controller/remote that'd be disappointing. seems kind of odd that the joysticks aren't in line with each other, too. i like the aesthetics apart from the joy-con thinger.

It'll feel better than the 3ds based on images of the back, but similar nonetheless. But it's fantastic for someone like me that doesn't own a TV.

Also, it's powered and collaboratively designed by Nvidia, so it'll have some fantastic specs.

The most interesting bif of info about this is that Epic Games is in the list of developers making stuff for it. Which means that for the first time Unreal Engine will officially support a Nintendo platform (WiiU was supported by UE3 but it was a pain in the ass and that was at the end of the lifetime of the engine). This is actually potentially a big deal as this means that people using UE4 can target this platform, and there are many studios who are currently using that engine...

Also, I think I want to get this console (first time since the DS for a Nintendo console for me). Hoping that games are region-free because having to import an European/American console would be a pain in the ass (and mucho expensive)...
