holy shit.
that 12-string telemaster is gorgeous.
i'm not even crazy about relic finishes but that aged sparkle finished and the block inlays are checking all kinds of boxes for me.

:)

The body and neck were stuff on clearance from Warmoth. I think they were real cheap cuz the guitar weighs like 25 lbs. I dunno why I put the dings in it, I was being impatient waiting for my soldering iron to heat up to fix a bad pot in it. Paint is duplicolor covered in glitter from some arts n crafts store.

Those are gorgeous.
Do you feel there is a big difference with how ric 12 strings are setup with the bass string first instead of the high octave string first? I'm curious about the differences.

I don't remember noticing any major differences the few times I played models with the octave string first. I have a Guild acoustic 12 string set up that way, but the vibe is quite different from the electric. I would think perhaps the attack would be a bit more clear with the bass string first, especially when picking single string runs and arpeggios :idk:

that peavey is dope, too. didn't know they made a milestone 12. kinda gassing for one -- would be sweet to have kicking around.

Yeah, I had been jonesing for a 12 string for a while. I would search eBay and look at the oddball brands that came up and was surprised to see Peavey. I think I paid $560 and it's defintely an above average guitar.

I rally like the looks of the old Hagstroms, the ones that look like the II or III, but I wouldn't take a chance on an old 12 without being able to check it out in person first.

The wiring is kind of goofy.

There is a regular pickup switch and a phase switch(for the bridge pickup).

The tone controls also affect whether or not the pickups are hum bucking. Tone control all the way up shorts one coil, making it single coil.

I think the neck on your Peavey is probably better than the necks on old Hagstroms. I had a six string Hagstrom III. The necks are really thin.

I've had a handful of 60s Hagstroms and yeah, the necks are toothpicks (I eventually sold all of mine because of that, and I like thin necks), but from what I've heard the 12 string necks are a little more accommodating. Never confirmed it myself though.

Oh man, not this thread again

I still have all the parts I need to build a guitar, minus the body and a good neck...time to head over to Warmoth

threads like this always fill me with inspiration to build my own custom weird-o-caster that has a bunch of ridiculous options but then I remember that i lack so much patience to do cool shit that I'd likely end up fucking something up.

that offset 12 with the hockey stick neck and the peavey are giving me serious blue balls.
