...Did you read about the Transcendence mode too? if you're that far behind then oh boy are you going to go back to an entirely different pedal.stripes wrote:i just found out that the count to five has a quantization switch on it now??? so obviously that makes me need a second one when this new batch comes along...

Re: Sunday GAS Party (secret santees.....be stalked here)
In general 5 watts full tube is still going to be way too loud for home use.frigid midget wrote:It's sunday, i've got a bad case of GAS, so here goes
I need a bedroom amp
I can tame my half stack, I'm no decibel nazi or anything. The thing is, I'll have to do my noodling in my frikkin bedroom from now on, and hauling that heavy ass 4x12 up and down those narrow stairs everytime I'm playing out is NOT an option.
Suggestions for the quietest possible 1X12 combo that doesn't sound thin or boxy would be welcome. Preferably something that's a little less nasal/sterile than say a sf fender, and something that handles dirt peds differently than Vox'es. It'll be stricly for home use, so doesn't have to be the bees knees either. Can't spend too much anyway, that'll probably my main issue here. The lower the wattage te better, but I'm not limiting myself to 5Watt amps, I've got an attenuator, so...
I considered getting somekind of inefficient 1X12 cab, but a combo amp wouldn't cost THAT much more, and my GAS is dictating me to use this excuse to get another amp, instead going the sensible/boring thing![]()
Figured I might as well try this here instead of wasting a fresh thread on it. Cheers.
As an exception I do dig the Fender Princeton Reissue however and it is pleasantly tameable, I would advise you to check the following amps:
Fender Excelsior Pro, Greta, Princeton Reverb Reissue
Ibanez TSA-15
Marshall JTM-1 combo

If you can live without much tone control the Kalamazoo Model 1 is a pleasantly different voice to the Fenders.

This is probably what I will go with on my end, once I can get my hands on the funds.odontophobia wrote:The Micro Dark Terror has an FX Loop if that's appealing -- but it is a little bit more expensive.

Think I want one of those Boss Katana's. Sound sweet for the price.

Re: Sunday GAS Party (secret santees.....be stalked here)
Thanks for the amp suggestions. I'm partial to a 1x12" combo configuration and 5ish watts though. I btw don't HAVE to be able to play whisper quiet, my neighbours are cool, and the rest of the family just have to live with the occasional noise outburst upstairs. But 15 watts without any sort of power scaling would still be a bit much if I want to get the tubes a *little* hot.
Don't wanna go the boutique/custom route for obvious reasons. Won't be using this amp a lot, and I probably won't leave my bedroom

I haven't decided yet. Watched a few Katana demos. Sounds great IMO. Looking to try one out once they drop.Disarm D'arcy wrote:Already dissatisfied with the AC4 or looking for some Vox/Roland stereo goodness?

I'll look into it. If the vice president of the Vox AC/Roland JC hyping crew of ILF thinks they're rad, they probably are to my tastes as well ('cause I'm prez of said crew, geddit?)

I actually just found out about those, and happen to be in the middle of a search for a cheap 'home' amp...UglyCasanova wrote:I haven't decided yet. Watched a few Katana demos. Sounds great IMO. This is the first time ever that I'm giving half a fuck for a ss amp. The 50 Watt model looks perfect for my modest bedroom needs (dispite the shitload of feautures that are wasted on me), and for that kinda price it'd be a crime to ignore it. The best tube alternative would cost me at least twice that much

Actually, a Blues Jr would cost me more than 3 times as much...:/

Re: Sunday GAS Party (secret santees.....be stalked here)
I have room on my bassboard but no idea what to put there. Strange feeling. Been wanting to try the MASF Starry Wisdom for a while, but the demos are all filmed with a potato. And do I need more dirt? RM-1N, TAFM and Fuzz-E-Cat cover a lot of ground as is. Maybe try another Mini. Didn't find it particularly interesting on guitar, but now that I'm all about them lows, maybe give it another go? What else? Hmmmm...filters? Bah, but I don't want another expression pedal. Bananana Mandela looks like a lot of fun, but I already have a Raptio. Do I need more than one delay? Uverbia looks amazing, but do I really need it?
Gah!
