Latest Arrival

This is a pretty rare vintage fuzz I picked up recently. Its in pretty good condition but missing the bottom and sides. I think its IC based, I cant see any transistors in there but I'm not very tech savvy so I could be wrong. :idk: There aren't any demo's online that I could find so heres my first go at doing one. Vox Starstream =>Gretsch Expandafuzz=>Yamaha i88x=>Wavelab. Starts out clean, then switches in the individual eq's, and then uses the treble/bass booster on the starstream towards the end. Everything sounds best when its dimed, and the eq channels work independently of the fuzz, really making it 2 pedals in 1. Each of the EQ spots is really sweet, and the flexibility is really good, as long as you like it trashy :thumb: It also lets the clean guitar signal through when the eq sections are bypassed, so I tend to play it with the guitars volume backed off a bit. I own and have played lots of vintage fuzzes but I think this is my favourite, it just roars with any guitar. Alot of my other fuzz pedals work really well with some guitars and not others, but this thing loves em all. Plus it looks awesome. The only reviews I've read were that it was one guys fave fuzz of all time or anothers unusable 60's biker film fuzz, which were both win to me  Please excuse the playing, I haven't had much time to play lately and I'm rusty as hell, and I don't noodle or play lead much anyway so generic riffin it is.

wow, that's wild! so you have bring each of the eq's in or out via the footswitches? wild! I like that sound towards the end..that real dirty yet high mid/treble sound..that is killer.

Yeah, each eq is quite distinct..the switches need changing because they pop really badly every time you turn them on (I edited that out) but they add so much more character to the sound. And using them as clean boosts gives the pedal another side. The eq actually sounds alot like my treble booster on the Vox Starstream, I always wanted than in a pedal :thumb:
