Love both these guitars. Only really interested in the epiphone. I don't think I can play a 12 string without sounding like Flesh World. Not that that is a bad thing...

Re-Chase Bliss fav switch. Can't Disaster area do this already but with all the pedals versus having the fav switch for just one? I guess I'm failing to see the point behind the product? Disaster offers one that does three pedals for 49.99. It doesn't have the switches, but I bet it can do 90% of the same thing. So get two and you're set. I also have NEVER use the preset mode on any of them. I just haven't dived in like that. Maybe it's time. Not a bash on the product, just that I don't really understand?

I think you're referencing the TNT ($49.99 list), which is a tap-tempo and favorite selector. Unless I'm misunderstanding its description, I don't think it can recall more than one favorite setting. It can interact with 3 devices for tap-tempo synchronization or a shared master setting, but I don't believe it can allow you to access a secondary preset.

Looking at the Disaster MIDI controllers, their cheapest offering is $129 (DMC-2 Gen2 on sale for $99). The product page for the DMC-2 doesn't mention anything about simultaneous operation for more than one device. The DMC-3XL Gen3 can control 4 simultaneous devices and it's $189.99.

The Chase Bliss (price TBA?) allows you to to scroll through the 2 onboard banks, an additional 4, or to select the pedal's current (live) setting, for access to 7 sounds at any given time (if I'm understanding it properly). I think they're all useful devices, but they're designed to serve different needs and setups. The DMC controllers ($189 and up) are perhaps better-suited to individuals with a more advanced MIDI setup, that have 3 MIDI-equipped devices or more, and the CB favorite box might be a more economical and stripped-down alternative for someone who's only using 1-2 pedals that can recall favorite settings.

Right, so I was referring to the TNT. From my experience with Disaster, they can pretty much do anything. So unless this is a preset unit that is reasonable priced, meaning sans 100 bucks, which I doubt given the line, I fail to see the point? I mean, you could get the new DMC 8 and have control over basically anything you want, they even have a tap temp out option so you can connect to external devices, which is great IMO.

I like the idea, but I think it needs to be a bit larger and allow you to control multiple devices. Unless I'm failing to see that it can connect to multiple devices? I can't find any description other than the video on here. I googled it and didn't come up with anything and I didn't see it on the Chase Bliss site? Maybe I'm blind?

I just know that like the Strymon Fav switch, I never understood the point of it because most people seem to have multiple midi enabled devices these days. I have like 6 right now. So I'd love a DMC 8 or similar device.

What if you're a student with a single Chase Bliss pedal and a humble pedal board with no Strymon/Eventide/Empress boxes? What if you want to recall 4 settings for your live shows, and you don't have any motivation or capital to drop $200 on a DMC3?

Considering that the (lightly) modified CB Empress Midibox is $59 (as opposed to the original being $49), I wouldn't be surprised if it's cheaper than you think.

I love how me eating is somehow a blanket thing for all of ILF even when they don't know anything about me. ;) I assure you'd I'm not in a caloric deficit currently and can think quite logically.

Let's say this. You're a single college student, great, you have a board and a single Chase Bliss pedal that cost you 300 plus dollars. Then it's a lovely option.

Let's say you're NOT that though and you want to control multiple devices, or even multiple Chase Bliss device. Or let's say you have all the Chase Bliss devices. How many of these do you now need to control them vs that 200 bucks you didn't want to spend on a single unit?

It's a lovely idea, I just again, fail to see why it's useful over something else.

I don't think it's supposed to replace something else. I think it's designed as a cost-effective alternative to something more expensive and more complex, for people with more modest needs. You've been talking about making it more expansive, which would increase its price and make it more similar to something that's already in the market---which would seem to be prohibitive to its seemingly intended purpose.

If you say your blood sugar is at an acceptable level, then I'll just have to take your word for it. At the end of the day, I just want to you be healthy and happy. More of this Image, less of this Image.

Yeah I think echorec is right on the money -- this isn't designed to fill the need of people who want to control multiple devices in that fashion, at least not from what I'm reading.

It's kind of like complaining that your go-cart doesn't have AC or airbags.

As for the Abyss, the latest morsel seems to remain that Instagram teaser image from a week ago.

I haven't seen much that would appeal to more frugal buyers. There was the Dave Smith/Oberheim OB-6 desktop synth ($2299). Then there were the new Nektar GX controllers ($99 and $119 each).

Hartmann moved forward with their €20,000 synth (edition of only 40 units worldwide), so that's finally happening. Maybe we'll all get to hear them on film soundtracks, before they're replaced by superior machines in a few years?

FYI to the gear-buying public. Sweetwater's annual post-NAMM/ Independence Day /mid-year 36-month, 0% offer is open now.

Time to pre-order a Nautila, Minilogue, and/or a Guild T-Bird?
