They break up sooooo fast. We have one in our rehersal space and it's pretty much useless for anything that pushes the volume past low output PU levels. It's perfect for clean blues licks though. The breakup is amazing, but it seriously lacks headroom.

Are you talking the '68 Custom or a vintage Princeton, UC? I originally though I wanted the '65 RI. But, I actually like the '68 better. Maybe not quite as much headroom, but fuller sounding. New, the '68 is $900. I like the Classic 30 a lot, too. I wonder if the 20 is as good? Not a fan of Hot Rod Series.

Hmmm, maybe you play much louder than I do. I, also, usually stick to dinky single coils.

I don't know. I play single coils as well. I do like playing loud. It's noise music I play after all. But yeah, people like different things. I'm just saying that it doesn't deal with being pushed very well, and that it sounds super wholly and has way too much bass even with it rolled back and the highs maxed out (when being pushed to clip), but that is also my personal opinion. The owner of the amp also thinks its a shit amp for pedals and has been trying to sell it ever since he got it 2-3 months ago. He also plays fairly pedal heavy and loud music. I'm not judging people who like it at all. I prefer my JC-160 over most tube amps and I absolutely love AC30s with pedals for crying out loud, haha! Not a popular amp to hit with fuzz for most people. Opinions are great, huh?

Hahaha, yeah, that's funny because I'd pretty much sworn off single 10" speakers. But, I felt the '68 was balanced enough that I might be ready to accept another in my home.

I haven't played a fuckton of tube amps, but so far I prefer my orange stripe Randall to most other amps. Since I only run it clean and stuff. Most fuzzes I've run through it has sounded splendid. Then again, I honestly wouldn't trust my opinion on amps for shit since my musical ear is way bad anyways

Yeah it's more of a Bluesy sort of amp or a Home-use pedal platform - which is all I need. Then again, a 12/15 watt amp with a 10 inch speaker would need to be micced up anyway then you could try and use a spare cab as well. :idk:

I'm too much of a lazy asshole to search, I'm hitting this thread up.

What do you guys use for monitors? I really need an actual pair because I feel like an asshole not having some. 2 Monitors is going to be next purchase.

real talk, behringer b3030a or b3031a monitors are great. I have the smaller pair (3030a) and I could use a subwoofer I guess, but they are really good for what they cost.

I've got a pair of KRK RP5, which are fine considering that I only use them at small volumes and in our living room (no dedicated music room). Anything better than stuff in that price range is basically wasted if you don't have a proper space to use it...

What do you want to use the monitors for ? Actual monitoring, mixing, playing ?
