New Autolux Tour (gear related)

Post by ||||| »

Has anyone had the privilege of seeing Autolux in support of their new album Pussy's Dead? I'm curious how they're translating the sounds for their live performance. I haven't had much luck finding pictures of their new boards and gear, that is, if they've updated anything.

i wouldn't be surprised if greg's using the superfancyridiculouslyexpensive rack thing he & ken are using in failure's reincarnation.

wish i could remember its name...

I actually stole this from a friend who was working at the venue Failure played at. I believe it was their sound rack and KA had his rack to his left with all of the Axe FX and laptops.

Looks like maybe a Devi Ever Hypnomangler? There's also the usual suspects of his pedalboard: Timefactor, DL4, FD2, Jamman Stereo, POG, Moog Ring Mod, Frantone Peach Fuzz plus others not in the shot.

I forgot about these guys. Their first release is easily in my top 10 albums played for my entire life. Then their second one came out and I thought it was just miserable.

:lol: first one makes my top 10 too. second had SOME good stuff but i don't like it nearly as much. hoping it was one of those sophomore things where they were just working on changes.

i've heard the third is really weird though.

new one is streaming on apple music; about the same as the 2nd album, for me - has a few jams, but nothing like the first (which is jam packed with rippers).

Eugene's board:

From what I can make out - (Top Row) DOD Meat Box, Red Witch Factotum, Tech 21 Red Ripper, (bottom row) Prescription Electronics Experience??, Wampler Low Blow, Fulltone Bass Drive?, Fulltone Fat Boost, Prescription Electronics Depth Charge, Crowther Prunes and Custard, Moog Trem

Stage Board: (sorry for blurry pic) XP300, XP100, Ernie Ball volume,Polytune, DL4, EHX comp

Greg's Board:

Not a lot has changed. He got rid of the EHX 2ube boost pedal and the POG is there now. Took away the Pefftronics Ran-o-matic and has a Bit Mangler in its place. He's using the VHT's boost now in place of the 2ube where as he would leave it on all the time.

Greg's Setup:

I think that's a Pocket Piano on top of the rack. Not sure though. He used the DL4 on top of the VHT for the noise break down for Turnstile Blues but he doesn't have the Noise Swash anywhere in sight. Could be noise from the Pocket Piano or a prerecorded loop on the Jamman Solo

Sampler, Axiom and Nord for piano stuff. Not sure what the keyboard by his pedals is. It's small and only used sparingly for more atmospheric parts.
