for the soft-stomp

tap to tap-tempo
hold >1 second for bypass toggle

does that make sense?

Yea, that's pretty awesome actually. This would make tap tempo only up to 1 second by design though, no? I don't know how long you've had it, or way anyone would need over 1 second on their vibrato time, but yea.

Either way, I'm buying all of your shit until I'm in the grave whenever it gets made.

Nope tap can in theory be as long as whatever. Holding the button is what makes it bypass, not tapping it.

Anyway, just brainstorming right now.

Ah I get what you're saying. Programming really isn't my wheelhouse, Java ruined that for me :lol:

But yea, you could just tap and then tap again a little bit later, I get it now! Should've understood that then haha.

Thinking about the LFOs on the vibrato: Rather than have random be a setting on the dial, it might be cool to use a second knob to blend in some random the way it is on the Hollow Earth. That's my favorite feature. I know, it's a complication.

I was thinking exactly that earlier today

and no it's not that complicated

it would add so much depth

You could also consider a small modulation of the frequency of the LFO by another LFO. Not by a huge amount, but to add some nice variation. This would work well with a sine or a triangle wave as the modulator and should be simple to implement...

The challenge with all this is having the different options mapped nicely to the interface, that's something that Mutable Instruments does very well for modular, for example (selecting an interesting subset of the variables space and making sure the controls are mapped to that instead of the entire space).

Also, it should be possible modulate the frequency of the LFO/LFOs while still keeping the whole thing in sync with tap tempo/etc., which could be quite cool too...

-> crush bits (variable)
-> sampelrate reduce (variable)
-> pseudorandom purcussive envilope "pinging" (variable)
-> comb filter (ultra short delay) (variable)
-> ringmod (variable)
-> errors (introduce variable dsp errors & noise)
-> resonant low pass filter

Goal is to make something highly textural/droney. Turn sound into the auditory equivalent of a Pollock painting.

Thinking of sound as a visual has got me sold. 15 knobs sounds amazing!

I decided to keep it for now. Still need to A/B it with my The Tape+ properly. The Tape+ has a lot of compression, and removes a lot of lows. The Vessel's End does not. But The Tape+ has tremolo as well as vibrato, and I love me some trem. I'm torn. :lol:

Totally unrelated, but cloudscapes, didn't you post a link to this page that sold fancy carpets that looked like computer glitches a while back? Do you remember what it was called, or do I need to go back and stalk your posts?
