Here's my preamp/amp-in-a-box board. I grab this when I need mostly clean tone, and I patch in my larger board that has the rest of my dirt choices, synth voices, and modulation. I'm waiting on some stuff to finish that one up before I post it.

Yeah, I'm not letting got of either the CT5 or the No Memory.
I really love the x4! It has its quirks with some of the effects, and the start up time has ruined some "OH SHIT I NEED TO RECORD THIS IDEA NOW" moments, but for the price and the features there's really no better looper.

We should have a game show à la Name That Tune
Inconuucl: I can shoegaze that tune with 5 pedals.

other contestant: OK, shoegaze that tune!

You're not helping my verellen preamp GAS. I've wanted a grab and go board with a Skyhammer preamp and an EHX .22 Caliber so I can use it as an amp head with a portable 1x10 cab
what's the fuck epilepsy? also what do you use for the lights? that's pretty sweet.
The FUCK EPILEPSY is basically a Megalith. It was born of an online rant about how I wanted a brutal fuzz that sounded and looked like how I feel about my daughter's condition. The builder did an incredible job. It actually ended up resulting in some incredible people donating to a Reverb auction in November of 10 custom built pedals to benefit the charity which researches her form of epilepsy (PCDH19 Clustering Epilepsy). It likely will happen again this November as well.
$13.61 shipped. I have them set to slowly fade between colors. I originally had the LEDs facing outwards but it was way too bright and I didn't want to blind people. The apparatus that powers it is kind of bulky but I think it could potentially be powered by a pedal power supply with the right adapter cable. I'm just sort of trying it out right now to see if I like it on gigs.
The Meatsmoke is amazing. possibly the best gear money I have ever spent. I've got some other things that I love as much as that, but I never turn it off. the only down side is once I got it and heard how awesome it sounds, I immediately wanted to get full amp.
The form factor, dispeptic hammer green paintjob, quirky electrical box housing, and raunchy interaction with other gain sources are appealing, but rf reception occurs at times (even when its used independent of other gain sources). I've been intermittently hearing everything from spanish, chinese, and french talk radio to top 40 American music. The builder is an exceptionally cool guy, though, and is sending a modded replacement unit for me to compare. I also have a Mooer Lofi and Fuzzhugger Doom Bloom inbound that should sound pretty menacing paired with the green ringer.
Interesting. Thanks for your thoughts. I bet it'll sound fantastic with the Doom Bloom.
Yeah, I love the Green Ringer. It's a strange circuit though. Sometimes it's noisy, sometimes it's quiet. In fact, I often like using it as a noise gate when I've got a lot of noise to signal ratio occuring. I can never predict which pedals it's gonna play nice with and which pedals it won't.

It makes my Noisereap Asstone sound like a dying llama in a quantum singularity. The gating effect seems consistent if the gain source that follows is non-oscillating and if local am stations aren't boosting the bejesus out of their broadcast signals. I like the way it both crushes and expands the Boogie Dual Recto model on my Amplifire. The results are reminiscent of a Fender Blender.
