To join the downer party: 550ms bums me out.
(something something cannibalism joke.)

I definitely want to know what the dip switches do, though.

I'm also curious about to what length the delay can be stretched & how gnarly that'll sound (I like them cannibalizing repeats a lot). Too bad the base delay doesn't approach 1s but I understand that probably wouldn't fit in the box. Would also like to know if the exp. In can be used as an external feedback loop insert, as this is a feature I mess around with often on my current delay. Still, high quality tap-tempo analog delay, colour me interested regardless of the $400 price tag.

I wonder how all them blues lawyers and such who bought themselves those 'analog-esque', boutique, $250+ 550ms PT2399 delays without presets, midi, exp. In and tap-tempo (possibly) because they just had to have warm, 'analog' sounds in a small footprint feel now the real deal has become available with way more features & in a medium-small footprint for probably only $50-100 more than what the imposters cost.

Fake analog is dead, thank you Joel.

550ms is good for an analog delay, though. I just sold my Maxon AD999, which goes up to 900ms - it did sound heavenly, but seemed to be filtered to a degree that alot of the artifacts and idiosyncrasies of analog delays were gone. I ended up putting it aside and kept on loving my AD9. Might just as well go digital for dem longer delays. Analog is all about the noise and warmth and weirdness. :bear: Looking forward to hear how the CB sounds with stretched delay time, though.

Well, my current go-to analog delay pedal is the MF104m-SD which has 6 BBD's /1200ish ms in a huge enclosure (and had a €750 price tag) vs. the Tonal Recall's 2 BBD's(IIRC)/550ms in a smaller enclosure and like half the price tag. Seems like a good deal to me like I said.
What I use the longer delay times for is mostly sound-on-sound looping in trails mode, but that sometimes sounds even better when BBD's are pushed beyond their limits, depending on how detailed the looped parts need to be (depending on the song of course).

And yeah I am considering getting a digital delay for this in addition to an analog one (nothing wrong with true digital when you need clarity), just don't know which one yet. Or I might have another go at a looper, though I really just couldn't get the hang of that last time I tried...

Will be curious to hear the demos -I'm not a huge "real" analog delay fan, preferring tape or digital, and not the middle ground.

After thinking about it a lot over night, I'll have to have a look at the dip switches, but I guess my heart stays with getting the 80tape In Limbo II

I'm curious to see how glitchy it is when the trim pots are maxed out... like that's a bad thing?

I asked Joel about that and he said:

"It's your normal ramping / expression of all parameters individually or simultaneously (ramping delay "time" is pure mayhem, btw). The unique thing back there is the "Trails" dip switch where you select between true bypass or buffered bypass with trails."

I love my Limbo II but i'll have to have this too.

Sounds dreamy as hell with the time at max and with the switch set to both. And this is 100% delayed tone since that mix knob is set to 100% wet most of the video.
