Wow, that's pretty lame. Yeah I get that some people probably don't like the design of Millimetrics but I'm not one of them and I really like the design of Lew's.samzadgan wrote:he was dissing the shape...and although i get that its the kind of shape that would divide opinion...i don't get why you would feel the need to post negative comments on someones NGD post...if you don't like it, you just click "Back"waltdogg wrote:Why would someone has something negative to say about these guitars? Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
I picked up a Yamaha Pacifica for $60, cleaned it up, filed down and sanded down sharp fret edges, added a new pickguard, replaced all the electronics, put a Peavey Predator single coil in the neck, kept the stock single coil in the middle, adjusted the truss rod, added graphtech string saddles, and added a brand new Carvin M22SD-1 humbucker in the bridge position. It sounds great at the 1 & 3-5 pickup positions. Position 2 (bridge and middle) sounds like a transistor radio with low volume. It plays smooth and great. I even picked up a brand new Yamaha Pacifica I was so impressed. Here it is:

Cool, looks like something one would see in a Japanese tea ceremony. Minimalist badassness.Lew wrote:Alright? I don't really post here (I should do) but think I'm friends with quite a few members here over on Instagram.
Anyway, my new geetar. Millimetric MG6 serial 001 :-) neck pickup is a Millimetric MM90 made to do the Travis Bean TB500 sound. Incredible thing. Ryan at Dr.S mentioned he's hoping to put an order in for one.

Soooooo story time.
Originally I was gonna grab this bad boy for myself with pay installments to skullservant. My girlfriend, being awesome/prone to browsing my search history saw this and got at skully via Facebook and bought it in secret. When I saw the box by the tree I was suspicioussssss but didn't wanna assume so I chilled. Then lo and behold, xmas comes and I tear into the box to find this mothafucka waiting for me!
I've heard stuff from other people on the board about the quality of the gits skully puts together, and this is definitely on par with those. Super light, thin coating on the wood and short scale so its fast as fuck. Haven't gotten to play it through my main rig but I've got nothing to do tomorrow but jam so you best believe imma run her through her paces.
Just in general, getting this thing was just incredibly nice and something I wasn't expecting. My girlfriend is as always the best for snagging this for me. Can't thank her enough. And Skully, you already know I got you if you ever need anything period, but consider that offer strengthened indefinitely. You the man dude, and still are my favorite pedal builder.

Oh yass!

Had it for a while already, but waited for a bright morning to take better pictures. They turned out pretty shitty anyway, but hey, at least it's a sweet guitar. My second SGV 300, and it does not disappoint. Fantastic guitar!

sick!
color on that is very nice
always liked those headstocks too
how is the bridge pickup to play? Do you loose any note definition?

I love the colour as well, it sorta matches my eyes.
Well, it's two single coils, and I usually don't blend them. Tend to use the one nearest the bridge, which sounds fine, though somewhat weak. Planning to switch the bridge pickup with some "normal" single coil on this one (who was that guy who made custom pickguards again?). The neck pickup sounds amazing, though.

Yeah, it's a pretty cool idea, going to keep it that way on my black one. By blending them you can sorta get that infamous quack sound that the Clapton-bois dig. 99% of the time I just use one though.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
interesting, you could probably rewind them or reverse one or something if you didn't want to get a completely new pickguard

Yea I can see that. The cool thing is 'cause it's concentric the actual volume sits a fair bit over the bridge.odontophobia wrote:Very cool guitar. Not crazy on the volume knob position but this thing looks slick.
haha I can deal with the negative. You can't play a guitar that looks like a spade from Minecraft and not expect a little shit, eh.samzadgan wrote:Nice Lew...but you gotta stop posting pics of that thing...you're making my decision process very difficult!

Anything specific ya wanna know? All maple construction. Florian doesn't like to use endangered woods. He's running a test with a walnut neck right now. The neck pickup is made to sound like a Travis Bean TB500. Shellac Albini sounds! I'm not too clued up on the bridge pickup - it's a humbucker but something about using a bar magnet I dunno. Stainless steel frets. Bridge is machined for Millimetric, something I hope Florian continues to do but it's expensive I think. It kinda feels somewhere between an SG and a Tele. Kinda. Sam was asking me about size earlier I think the shape and thinness is a little deceiving. Everything on it is super tight. Florian is a super cool farout groovy kinda guySPACERITUAL wrote:
Hey man welcome! Can you give us a short review? Im thinking about putting in an order next week and wanted to hear from one of the owners.

The case is something else. A Nannuk 990 - a weapon case made in Canada which Florian has laser cut the insides so the guitar fits perfectly. Florian likes getting shit laser cut.
$1700CAD inc Nannuk 990. Which for me was a stoopid bargain as the exchange rate makes that £850.blakestree wrote:Nice, Lew! How much do they run?

It started out as a J Mascis Squire. It has had a rough life with both fire damage and flooded basement soaking so electronics are redone.JereFuzz wrote:Where was the Squier made?

After looking at it I immediately went to amazon to take a peek at the Mascis guitar 'cause it sorta looked like one.
