Talk to me about that stoney EQD pedal. Meathead? One knob muff? Something else?

I'll probably crack it open today to see whats going on under the hood. Sounds muffy for sure, but with lots of middles. Its also input sensitive like a fuzz face, lots of tonez to be had w/ your guitars volume knob and cleans up some unlike a muff. Unity gain is about 9 o'clock and after noon things start to get nice and saggy.

EQD should do more of these, love this thing on bass and guitar, spent about a week with it and thinking about offing alot of my dirt pedz.

Edit: cracked er' open and this thing runs on dual JRC386D's, just like my favorite "tufnel distortion circuit" outside of that just a few resistors, couple of caps, a diode and one knob. Never played a d*a*m sonic titan but my guess is its in the vicinity of one of those on steroids.

Took gut shots also if anyone may be interested.

Its definitely got it's own thing going on. Not a whole lot out their running dual 386's, only other thing that really comes to mind is the Frantone Peach Fuzz, but the Acapulco is more of a fuzzy over the top distortion. What it does have in common with the Peach Fuzz is the massive amount of bottom end.

EQD's brief description of this ped sounding like a cranked Model T is about right, but I think it gets even raunchier. This thing has tons of volume on tap and turns my Ampeg V2 into a fire breather.

Interesting. Glad it sounds good. I read where EQD Jamie really liked it and there was at least some mention of it making it into the lineup (probably under a different name I would assume).

Yeah outside of the Beavis Audio pedal I can't think of one that uses the JRC386D. I just assumed this was a meathead variant since, you know, one knob and "it totes sounds like a cranked model T brah"
good deals are here.

I like my Dunwich HM-2 kit pedal but I think I'm gonna have to get a Modded HM-2 one of these days as well.

New board day, posted in main gear forum as well. Met a gear hoarder on craigslist that's collection had me shitting in my pants to say the least. Ended up trading my Ibanez SM-9 for a 2nd Boss FZ-2, love dat boost.

Also traded a Green Russian Muff for a Bee Baa, holy fuck is that thing evil. I really want a board with just two fz-2's, and two Bee Baa's now.

The only thing better than an FZ-2: Two FZ-2's. Beebaa is leading my GAS wish list atm.
