Hartke aluminum neck bass project. Unfortunately, the body is somewhat banged up on the back and sides. Still plays wonderfully other than a few things here and there. I had to pound a few frets down that were killing some notes on the neck. Wired this from scratch. Been while since I did things with no electronics in it at all. CTS pots, 2 volume, 1 tone. Mojotone Vitamin T Capacitor on the tone knob. I have 2 Alumitone pickups as suggested by skullservant. And he was very correct. Beefy, clean, and full.

How do you like the Aerodyne? I've been curious to try one out.

It's lighter than my white American Special Jazz and even my Rondo Les Paul. Tonally, it's up there with the best sounding basses I've played. The pickups seem to not be standard Fender vintage, they seem to be higher output.

It has a much thicker neck than I was expecting, which can cause a bit of dive, but nothing horrifying. Strikes me as being the perfect bass for hardcore (and perhaps metal too).

Hey bros. So I had to sell that Dingwall Z1 I bought to pay for my fucking cabinets to get painted. Sigh. I was very, very upset about this. Luckily, I was able to buy a new Dingwall to replace it and got something I'm actually happier with!!! A Dingwall AB 2 for 1900 bucks! I feel like I stole the thing!!! hahaha. It's amazing!!!!! It plays fast, feel comfortable and is light as shit!!! 8 lbs! I could run with this sucker! The B on it is fucking killer too! It's passive active and has literally everything I'd want, including a wenge neck!! YES!!!!! It's also gorgeous. I've lusted for one of these for years and could never afford one! Normally they go for 2500-3000. I don't even know how I got such a good deal. It's fucking MINT too.

This arrived on the weekend.

I was in japan for most of november. While I was over there I played one of these and it was honestly one of the nicest non-vintage precisions I've ever played. I had to stop playing my squier precision and my aluminium baseball bat neck ripper earlier this year and switch to a borrowed fender jazz because I've rooted my hands up a bit in a bicycle accident and can't get around the necks fast enough for my current band's songs. It's slowly getting better but the ripper still just doesn't sound quite right. Unfortunately I've always been more of a precision than jazz guy (I have big monkey hands and just like the sound more).

The neck on this precision is just insane though. Wider than a jazz but that same really flat D shape. Getting through all the chords and shit I play in this band is a breeze. But I decided to be an adult and not to buy the one in the shop because carrying it around with me and getting it home would've been annoying AF.

So anyway, got home, saw one on the ishibashi used site for nearly half what it would've cost me to get one in tokyo in the exact colours I was looking at. Happy early birthday to me!

Going to get a new bridge at some point and a duncan steve harris pickup asap. Very happy.
