Drugs, man. As I hoped, this pedal is pretty different from the others I've demoed. Harsher, more scrambled, with some beautiful, filtery tones. Pretty tweakable, but it retains its idiosyncrasies no matter the setting. It can be a bit bright at times for the music I usually play, but it would kick ass in a more classic noise rock setting. Or for weird, psychedelic effects and such. Very responsive to your guitars tone knob, which lets you mellow it out. And great for volume knob synth freakouts. Basically, it takes the concept of oscillating fuzz and runs with a certain style of it. Think gated 8-bit notes, controllable screams of feedback and compressed power chords. It nails that aspect of things, and is a great tool if you're into those kinds of sounds. Man.

As you can see, I got hung up on certain settings (especially in the latter half of the video), but I think I covered most of it. There are obviously way more sounds on tap, though.

Berkaberkaberkberkberk. It's an oscillating fuzz! I honestly haven't figured everything out on this guy yet, but I made sure to tweak knobs and flip switches while playing to cover most of the sounds that rest within this wonderful beast. To sum up, it's a synthy, gated, sometimes starved sort of fuzz, with some really interesting modulation that might be envelope controlled (at least it reacts to dynamic playing). Most importantly, though: It sounds awesome. Great fun to tweak, and discover new sounds. Picklez!

I like them lights and the way the pedal keeps jumping this way and that.

Sounds spectacular! It's about time you got a bigger board for all of these great fuzzes. You can't let the bass player have the biggest board, ya know what sayin'?

Neither have I, and I finished designing the thing back in July! It does everything that I wanted it to do in the first place, which it turns out is about a third of what it's actually capable of and I find a new sound every time I jam with it.

That demo vid is awesome, and the commentary invoked actual audible laughter. Thanks!

Thanks! That's mostly mr. Pickle-James doing; even the simplest little lines come out sounding complex with the Berk.

Glad to hear it's not only me. That's great work though, making something so deep. The world needs more crazy boxes like this! Also, thanks for commenting, always fun when the creators chime in on my demos. Glad you enjoyed it!

Sooooo, I'm not going to say that this will be the last demo again, because by now we all know that I can't stop myself. That being said, there aren't that many osc-fuzzies left on the earths surface that stand out enough for me to bother with. Got my eyes on Bananana's Shooting at the Moon though. Feel free to give me tips on others I should check out.

So... out of all the osc-fuzzies in the world, which one ranks the highest?

For my use, LAL 88.They all have different perks that fit different occasions - I need me some expression controlled oscillations, and the base sound is incredible. It has become an extension of my instrument, more or less. For drones, I'd say AB-Synth (which is now called the Sonic Shroom). For videogame madness, Wolf Computer (or the Silver Apple). For harsh noise walls and extreme sounds, Thornoscillator or Noise Swash. And so on. Most of the fuzzes I've demoed here are excellent, so it really depends on what you're looking for specifically, like types of sound, functionality etc. For instance, while the She Fuzz might not be the most out there or interesting one of the bunch, it has earned a steady gig on my board because it nails a spesific set of sounds.

:thumb: Yeah, the Noise Swash is pretty high up on my wanted list, mostly because I imagine playing really fast fuzzy indie rock with the occasional stab of harsh freakout noise thrown in for good measure. Seems like it could do the job. Just watched some Thornoscillator and it sounds hilariously amazing, thanks for the recommendation!

No problem, man. For the harsh, crazy noise, be sure to check out the Great Destroyer as well.
