Yeah. Fallout was big at E3, and they posted a ton at Gamescom. I didn't see any playables at either.

I don't think there will be anything playable until it's released. TGS was the latest big gaming event until the game's release date anyway.

How was TGS overall? I feel like it's getting less coverage than in the past...

Ughh, give it to me now.
Honestly, you don't need to play games at Ultra levels. Besides, i've noticed that you're much more likely to have problems and glitches by running all the bullshit filters and textures that are only optimized for Nvidia or only optimized for AMD. If you just play games at High or Medium without half the shit, you're going to get better framerate and a better playing experience. Games look good through lighting, not the textures.
Bloodborne and MGS are two examples of games that run perfectly on a PS4 which is the equivalent to a decent gaming laptop.

Anyone wanna talk me into/out of that?

Yeah I'm not hassled by huge specs or anything, but I'm seriously doubtful my machine could cope in its current state.
Edit: Currently running an intel Core i7920@2.67GHz
4GB RAM (obviously an easy upgrade)
With an AMD radeon 6900
Its over five years old now so I'm doubtful that's gonna be enough.

Kinda underwhelming this year. Sony always has good stuff to check (this year : Dark Souls 3, Tomorrow Children, Bloodborne DLC, Gravity Rush PS4, Tearaway PS4, etc.) but you have to wait quite a bit to play so I didn't try everything. Lots of Playstation VR (formerly Morpheus) demos too. The Last Guardian was not playable but there was some gameplay video looping and a cool sort of installation with a lifesize dogbird creature (projection of a real time version of the game).
No Microsoft at all this year (they used to be there). The other big booths were average I think and the only visually impressive booths (with big-ass stuff and not just people and screens) were by mobile/social/free-to-play companies, which depresses me. Tecmo Koei did have an Attack on Titan thing that looked cool. The indie section was full of 2D platformers,

It was also fun in a sad way to check all the creepy guys taking pictures of the booth babes all over the place, but that gets old pretty quick

I mostly go there to see other game industry people anyway, otherwise it would have been more disappointing...

Well, I just did some homework and saw that I could run Elder Scrolls Tamriel if I updated my Graphics card, which has been on the blink for a while anyway. So I'm guessing F4 won't be too much of an ask on top of that.
Ordered some new RAM first though, and I'll need more storage as I'm nearly chock full, but looks like I'm sticking to PC.

Yeah I'm getting my RAM from them and I've ordered stuff from them in the past.
Haven't had a problem yet.
Well, I was looking at the GTX950 as an option, so if you do wanna hock it maybe PM me and I'll throw it in the mix to consider?

A friend told me that the schools section actually had some interesting prototypes made by students, I should have checked that instead.

In a lot of ways feels like gaming in general. Sony didn't show up to Gamescom. E3 felt smaller and quieter. It used to fill the entire south hall, and now there's a lot of unused space outside of the center of the show floor in that hall. Some other cool activations starting to happen, but I think these industry organizations need to innovate with how they put on shows. Long lines, and industry only are not a great experience. You mention connecting with other folks in the industry. Are you in Dev, Publishing, or Marketing?

Bloodborne is awesome. If you liked any of the Souls series (Demon's Souls/ Dark Souls/Dark Souls 2) you'll love it. Great atmosphere too.
