Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Andy did a nice job with the clusterfuzz...
Lost my old midi interface...(or sold it/it has been a good 10 years since I had used it anyway)...need one to do some transfers and test some stuff...any decent cheap midi interfaces for a computer for <$30? Literally just need it to do transfers...I'm also on a 4 year old iMac if that makes any difference. Don't have USB 3 or thunderbolt or anything. Just USB and maybe a firewire (but I don't see those around much even though it was better than usb).
Should I get something mildly better than the midisport uno (I think it was what I had before and one broke and one lasted for ever but didn't like the FB-01..but don't have that anymore so, no problem I guess)? Don't mind used, just gotta be able to get drivers...I have a cheapy windows laptop with windows 7 I could use if thats helps.
If it is the uno or something like that, that's cool. I guess looking for a sleeper/quality one and avoiding it not liking my mac even though there shouldn't be much variance between them really.
Or just get rid of my mobile pre old audio interface I use for ripping old recrds for my ipod and replace it with something like the tascam us2x2...is latency still a think with USB? All my computer hardware knowledge stopped with 2005 (just didn't care any more..haha)

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Lessons Learned From Disassembling My Pedalboard:
Germanium Fuzz Can Be Worth The Trouble
To use the Sound Shank, I have to power it independently, put it first in the chain, and move my tuner to the other end of the chain. I did the same awhile back for a Tone Reaper, but I wasn't thrilled with it. I am thrilled with the Sound Shank. It is such a sizzling, buzzing sound, but not thin or fizzy like my old Terminal. It has mids and girth without flabbiness. Almost makes me want to try a different Tone Bender, since I am already setup for temperamental fuzz.
I Think I Need A New Delay
I've been using my Belle Epoch and a rotating cast of delays for the last 6 months, but I think the real issue is the Belle. I am happier with the clean, dry repeats of the DSD-2 than I have been with anything else. Thing is, the DSD-2 is being heavily used for the sample function, as the sample and hold is much better for filling space than the Freeze was. Basically, I've learned that I don't really dig tape echoes, modulated delays, or pedals with a ton of modes.
I'm Still Not Smart Enough For the Warped Vinyl
I watch the videos, I mess with the settings, I still don't get it. Gotta keep plugging away.

Try getting solid at it first without the dip switches. Then, move on to one dip switch at a time to see what it does. Afterwards, start combining and doing the recipes in his videos.chuckjaywalk wrote:I'm Still Not Smart Enough For the Warped Vinyl
