Meh.

But cool for those who haven't tried Ultratap or the Looper in the Timefactor yet.

Haha, can't say the Dandies are exactly the cleanest living band in the world...

Also, what the hell kind of guitar is that. Kinda fugly but intriguing.

Harvester guitars out of Melbourne.
They do some awesome like vintage Hagstrom and silvertone kinda throwback stuff and then they do completely whack shit like the above.

I am definitely going to keep an eye on it of nothing else.

For the people wanting momentary switching, I will say that the envelope threshold sampling worked great on the particle for me so if this is similar I wouldn't call the lack of momentary switching an instant deal breaker.

That said, won't be getting one to replace my ct5.

These blokes are really putting out some cool stuff lately. I loved the Scrutator Carsten brought to ILF em all, and this doesn't sound too bad either, but I would not replace my Judder with it. These kinds of pedals seem to be the latest cry in the fx world. After years of having the Revolver and the Judder around (not to speak of the Boss glitch possibilities) apparently there is some sample mangling hype going on. Good for us, the more options there are the better. But suddenly I start to wish for something new/other than this.

Maybe we need more weird filtering?

Maybe we need someone else than Subdecay to do sample and hold

maybe that also needs to have a glide feature... imagine sample and hold with glide, god

this looks good and I loved Phanta's Judder I tried (after I understood how to operate it), but I honestly doubt I will ever have a way to use these efx :idk:

All in all it is freaking cool to have builders venture into the modular world and bringing back all these amazing weird ideas, like malekko or dwarfcraft with the ARF.

Couldn't you just desolder the 3pdt and replace it with a non latching? Get someone to rehouse it while they're at it.

I've always thought the Particle needed a soft footswitch that you could either tap to turn on and off, or hold for some momentary action. Or just a toggle to switch between latching and momentary.

A few of the extreme settings on the particle would really benefit from it. Some of those sounds are so wacky that they feel passé in the long run, but for sudden bursts I think they could be more interesting.

Envelope threshold on such a dynamic instrument as guitar is not such a good idea in my book. You hit one string too hard live and suddenly the Particle has you latched on to a sample you didn't want. Slap on a momentarty footswitch and the problem is eliminated.

Basically, I disagree with you  :joy:

I'm probably in the super minority of people who think the Rapito and Possessed, Jutter, and this guy are neat but couldn't ever find a personal musical context where I would be able to use something like it

Especially on a dynamic instrument such as a guitar it IS a good idea imo. Makes the control of the pedal much more intuitive I think. You want whacky? Hit harder! That makes much more sense to me than stomping on a momentary. Especially since you can send the whack into overdrive by turning on a fuzz or compressor that will take everything you play over the threshold. On the Judder I learned how to set and how to control the envelope pretty quickly so that I know how to play in order for it to kick in. Now maybe the control on the Particle doesn't work as good, but if you set the envelope to where it doesn't hear you unless you hit the strings hard and WANT it to hear you it is superior to any footswitch.

And if you activate by accident then it's just sloppy playing.

Only in the minority because this is ILF and we love weird. Ultimately we're the majority. Many others will be considerably less interested.
