I had a bitquest, but I'm weird about multieffects and stuff. I want clear cut effects with a single, tweakable purpose. Making sense is not my game.

Nah, man, I get it. I'm like that with most multis, too ...except the BitQuest!

Ring mods get to be more fun with the different routings too. I really think they shine with more options. But I ain't about that doing ZZ Top stuff with them "in tune" or making pitch shift melodies/solos. It's all about the clang and metal sounds.

In other news, I want another SGV to mod and stuff. There's a light blue one on Yahoo Japan that would be perfect.

My old SGV before it got stolen was modded like crazy...creme pickgaurd, P90 at the neck and it had a teisco at the bridge (used to be a super distortion humbucker). Honestly most happy with the OG stuff on my new one. A 1986 SGV just went up on reverb for 3k I think! haha

Sad thing about that Maestro is that when they do go for sale...$900 to $1100usd usually haha. SPK is pretty much based on it or at least it is pretty close to the design I think. I know when Hirofumi released it there was pretty much just like two on the market (can't remember if the snarling dogs one was out yet). There was the maestro, the jen (which isn't the ring mod most people look for), a few multifx that had one, and the EHX FA...(there might have been another, but I can't remember) so I think he went for the best one for inspiration. Maybe a maestro clone could be a good thing to find, Eivind?

Love the OG stuff on mine as well, but would be fun to have one with different pups, and maybe some crazy stuff.

Maestro clone would be cool, but I feel pretty invested in the SPK. Brand loyalty, look, loads of factors that have nothing to do with function. I love the chase. Might pick up a Robotum or Swan Song though, since they're different takes on that mod which we call ring. Staying pedge for now, hoping my Satan is rich and found me an SPK.

When I got my SGV again, my wife was like "yep, that's your guitar". Play it constantly! But yea, modding a guitar is a blast too. If I had a second, I would think about it (probably m3s or soemthing in it). Gotta thank Dandolin again. If I ever found a cheap on with a broken neck...I think I would do a bass Vi or something (or hell, I have a damn woodshop, could probably do it from scratch if i wanted). I've got another guitar project that comes before everythinig though.

I'm having so much gas all over the place. I brought waaay to little distortion and fuzz with me to the netherlands. What the actual fuck was I thinking that I'd go from having a shitload of both to just use ONE FUZZ AND ONE OD. I need to buy a Rat or something. The post that I did in the ILFSS thread suits this thread more:

It's been in my wants list too chankgeez. Good way to get that snarling dogs one with better build quality. Been looking at it for a while. Randy's revenge is good too though. Prefer the spk though.

I don't think I have any pictures of my old sgv. There is like one of me playing it somewhere out there...or on some old hard drive. I have my pickguard template I made for it though.
